This film was shot during the final week of studio time booked for Penny Points to Paradise (1951), which had only occupied three weeks of the planned month's shooting. Spike Milligan and Peter Sellers improvised various comedy scenes and the remaining running time was made up with material supplied by various local variety acts.
Spike Milligan and Wallas Eaton are uncredited, although both were already radio stars, and were heard regularly with Peter Sellers.
