This film failed at the box office, resulting in a loss for MGM of $395,000 ($4.64M in 2023) according to studio records.
The play "The Last of Mrs. Cheyney" by Frederick Lonsdale, upon which this film is based, opened on Broadway at the Fulton Theatre, 210 W. 46th St. on November 9, 1925 and ran for 385 performances until July 10, 1926.
The names of the characters were changed from the two previous versions and from the play they were based upon.
Two cast members would later go on to be regulars on two hit TV shows: Hayden Rorke (Tracy Collins) on I Dream of Jeannie (1965) and Natalie Schafer (Pamela Pemberson) on Gilligan's Island (1964).
