Ludwig Ahgren is going live -- and I'm not talking about his stream.
The YouTube Gaming star, who is based in Los Angeles, will take the stage at Inglewood's YouTube Theater on July 2, 2022. The event he will host there is being billed as the finale of his game show Mogul Money, which combines the format of Jeopardy! with the status of streaming stars.
A presale for the live show begins on April 20, but the ticketing window will officially open on April 22 via Ticketmaster. That will give Ludwig plenty of time to fill up the 6,000-seat YouTube Theater, which opened last year next door to Super Bowl host venue SoFi Stadium. If you can't make it to Los Angeles in time for the show, you can also catch it on YouTube. Ludwig will stream all the shenanigans on his official channel.

We’ll take Ken Jennings for…full-time host of Jeopardy! And we’d wager a bet we’re not alone. Since the great Alex Trebek’s passing in 2020 from pancreatic cancer, the 47-year-old former Jeopardy! champion and consulting producer has become one of the most popular replacements to fill the late icon’s spot, thanks to his smarts, magnetism and endearing dad jokes. Jennings’ current tenure — he’s been sharing hosting duties with The Big Bang Theory alum Mayim Bialik since last September — continues to convince us that he is perfect for the job. Even if he wasn’t sold on the idea when he was first asked to guest host in the wake of Trebek’s death. “I had so much hesitation going in,” the former software engineer admitted in March 2021, “just knowing firsthand what a tough job Alex was doing for decades and how easy he made it look.

Most people know that Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune are sister shows. The tradition is that they air together (in syndication), if you compete on one of the game shows, you’re ineligible for the other, and Wheel‘s current host Pat Sajak and late Jeopardy! emcee Alex Trebek even swapped duties once for April Fools’ Day. For many viewers, watching both series, one after the other, is a nightly routine. However, what you might not know is that the airing order depends on where you live. In the majority of markets, Jeopardy! airs first, followed by Wheel of Fortune. But if you’re used to the other way around, you’re not alone! So which show is the better opener? And which is the better closer? The issue has sparked hometown pride-style debates on social media many times. You can tell a lot about where you live based on...

Interactive and immersive storytelling has taken many forms over the years, from virtual reality to artificial intelligence. While the entertainment industry professes its excitement over the possibilities of the metaverse, the film and TV worlds tend to sideline emerging media. Don’t expect much talk about it at this year’s Oscar ceremony.
When experimental storytelling projects are acknowledged by awards bodies, they tend to be pigeonholed into generic groups that don’t fully describe the work at hand. Last year, the Emmys’ “Interactive Media” included everything from Baobob Studios’ VR project “Baba Yaga” (which won) to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade for an Ar component available to home viewers. In 2020, the prize went to “Jeopardy!” for an interactive game.
The Peabody Awards is taking an ambitious step forward to address that shortcoming by adding 12 new awards for Digital and Interactive Storytelling alongside four special awards to leaders in the field.

Diana Ross probably didn’t expect to find herself trending on Twitter this week, but that’s what happened after March 21 episode of Jeopardy! when the iconic singer was named as a controversial incorrect answer. It all went down in the Final Jeopardy! round, with the category being “Singers” and the clue reading, “In 2021, at age 95, this singer achieved a Guinness World Record for the oldest person to release an album of new material.” The answer, of course, was legendary crooner Tony Bennett, who released his second collaborative album, Love for Sale, with Lady Gaga on September 30, 2021. Things started off on the right foot as host Ken Jennings asked third-place contestant Margaret Chipowsky for her answer. “Who is Tony Bennett?” she wrote, wagering $9,000 and taking her total winnings for the episode up to $18,000. “Wow, a big wager,” Jennings remarked. However, the evening took a turn when Jennings turned to the other two contestants.

The case for Jeopardy!‘s full-time host may be in jeopardy no more as Ken Jennings has stepped away from The Chase at ABC. The current Jeopardy! guest-host joined ABC’s game show alongside his fellow Jeopardy! alums James Holzhauer and Brad Rutter when the show debuted in 2021. But now he’s taking a step back as teased by Holzhauer who tweeted, “By popular demand, The Chase is now 100% @KenJennings-free.” I’m already missing all the lovely folks at @TheChaseABC, and the great trivia minds, and James. https://t.co/uhqCIimzw2 — Ken Jennings (@KenJennings) March 15, 2022 Meanwhile, Jennings responded by saying, “I’m already missing all the lovely folks at @TheChaseABC, and the great trivia minds, and James.” The exit coincides with Jennings recent milestone of hosting 100 Jeopardy! games, something he commemorated a few nights before the mention of his exit from The Chase. Current Jeopardy! host Mayim Bialik is trying to put her own stamp on the long-running game show, but some fans are not happy with even the most minor of changes. The biggest point of contention appears to be Bialik’s use of the phrase “Single Jeopardy!” to refer to the opening round of the game, which is usually just called “Jeopardy!”. The Call Me Kat star used the term twice on Thursday evening, in both the regular edition of the show and the National College Championship. Sticklers for tradition did not like this new turn of phrase and were quick to let Bialik know about it on social media. “@missmayim It is Not single Jeopardy!! It is the Jeopardy round. Please don’t keep calling it that,” tweeted one disgruntled viewer. Others shared similar sentiments, with one fan writing to The Big Bang Theory alum, “You make my brain hurt when you say “Single Jeopardy.

The Call Me Kat actress returned to the show on January 31, just days after contestant Amy Schneider ended her record-breaking 40-day winning streak. She is also hosting the National College Championship specials, which kick off on Tuesday evening. While Jennings is expected to return before Season 39 bows out in August, some fans were disappointed to see the Jeopardy! Who will be the next host of “Jeopardy”?
For regular viewers of the long-running quiz show, buzzing in to guess Mayim Bialik or Ken Jennings — who have been alternating as emcee following Alex Trebek’s death — would seem like the correct response.
But in reality, it’s still unclear who will lead “Jeopardy” beyond this year.
After the turn to find Trebek’s successor became messy, Bialik and Jennings were hired as interim hosts throughout the remainder of Season 39, which is currently airing. After that, there’s no word yet on whether a new hosting contender might be considered, or if a choice will be made between Jennings and Bialik. Another option: Sony Pictures Television, the show’s producer, could decide to stick with the status quo and allow the duo continue splitting duties. Sony Pictures Television declined to comment.

The only other contestants to win more than $1 million in regular season games are Ken Jennings, whose 74-game streak yielded $2,520,700; James Holzhauer, who earned $2,462,216 over the course of 32 victories; and Matt Amodio, who won $1,518,601 during his 38-game streak last year.
Schneider’s next attempt to add to her totals will be on Monday.
Jeopardy! is produced by Sony Pictures Television, distributed domestically by CBS Media Ventures and internationally by ViacomCBS Global Distribution Group, both units of ViacomCBS.

The CW, home of shows like Riverdale, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, and more, has been put up for sale by its parent company.
“When we think of The CW these days, it’s usually in terms of capes and tights—not surprising, given how much of the network’s schedule is filled with the various superhero shows produced by Greg Berlanti and his wide array of collaborators and co-producers. But now we’ll have to start thinking of it with a different descriptor: ‘For sale.'”

The Tusken Raiders have been featured heavily in both The Mandalorian and now in The Book of Boba Fett, but do we even know what they look like underneath those masks?
“Masks have always played a huge role in Star Wars. Darth Vader was defined by his ominous mask for years. Boba Fett’s hidden face made him an unlikely star.

She received much praise for her performance in the 1977 Broadway revival of Pal Joey and won the Drama Desk Award for The American Clock (1981), written by her brother Miller. On Wednesday, Amy Schneider won her 21st consecutive game of “Jeopardy!,” making her the first woman in the show’s history to do so. She then broke her own record, winning her 22nd game the next night.
The record for most consecutive wins by a woman was previously held by Julia Collins, who had her 20th win in 2014. Schneider reflected on Collins’ legacy on Twitter, where she writes a thread of “post-game thoughts” after each episode airs (though the episodes were all taped in September and October).
“Twenty wins! It happened months ago for me, and I’m still trying to take it in,” she said. “In my highest of high hopes, I never dreamed of matching Julia’s streak. It’s hard to say how I felt: proud, dazed, happy, numb, all those things.”

Legendary actress, producer, animal-rights activist and all-around sweetheart Betty White died Friday at the age of 99.
“Even though Betty was about to be 100, I thought she would live forever,” said Jeff Witjas, White’s agent and friend, in a statement to People on Friday. “I will miss her terribly and so will the animal world that she loved so much. I don’t think Betty ever feared passing because she always wanted to be with her most beloved husband Allen Ludden. She believed she would be with him again.”

Stop us if you’ve heard this one before, but a Jeopardy! contestant is absolutely dominating the field right now.
Current champion Amy Schneider of Oakland, California is currently riding a 19-game winning streak in the venerable American quiz show. Many of those 19 victories have been absolute laughers, with Schneider leaving her opponents in the dust. She currently has nearly $750,000 in regular season winnings and her dominance in the Final Jeopardy! round is shocking even current Jeopardy! guest host and forever Goat Ken Jennings.
In nearly any other of Jeopardy!’s 38 seasons, Amy Schneider would be the biggest story of the year. And yet, she’s not even the most decorated winner of this current season. That honor goes to Matt Amodio, who earlier this year ended his remarkable run at 38 games (good for second all time behind Jennings) and $1,518,601 earned (good for third all time behind Jennings and James Holzhauer...

If you thought Machine Gun Kelly getting dissed by Eminem back in 2018 was a career setback, then Jeopardy! might have just buried the Texas rapper for good. On Monday’s episode of the long-running game show, the three contestants were stumped by a clue in the “Musical 3-INITIALers” category. “The stage name of this rapper and actor gets shortened to Mgk,” said host Ken Jennings. A confused silence followed as the trio of competitors racked their brains for an answer. The clue even perplexed returning Jeopardy! champion Amy Schneider, despite a photo of the Houston-born rapper and actor accompanying the question. In the end, the buzzer sounded, timing the contestants out. “Not a fan of the rapper Machine Gun Kelly, apparently,” Jennings commented afterward. Last year, the allegations of toxicity at The Ellen DeGeneres Show made for one of the biggest television controversies of the year. In 2021, however, that scandal has taken a back seat to other TV host snafus. While The View is a fount of constant drama, we wouldn’t have expected to see the once-esteemed Jeopardy! brought low by a disastrous host-selection process. And suffice it to say, the bloom is off the rose for a certain Bachelor host. Below, we’re ranking 2021’s TV host controversies, not by how offensive they were — because, let’s face it, most were pretty offensive — but by how much they seemed to dominate headlines this year. Ellen DeGeneres calls out “orchestrated” and “misogynistic” press coverage after allegations of a toxic workplace culture at her talk show In July 2020, a bombshell BuzzFeed News article detailed accusations of racism and intimidation behind the scenes of The Ellen DeGeneres Show,...
