When David is in Crystal's apartment - she kisses him, he turns away, and she burns the back of his right hand with her cigarette. He yanks it away and yells in pain while holding it, yet later that day when he's sitting at a table with his girlfriend Janet, the back of his right hand can briefly be seen a few times and there is no burn or mark of any kind on it at all.
When Johnny and Icey are talking in the bar, Johnny's glass goes from him setting it on the table with his left hand, to in the next shot the glass is off the table in his left hand down by his waist.
When David and Janet are talking, she is holding a lighter in her right hand, then holds the hand above the table and away from her. On the following cut, which is a reverse shot, the hand is now resting on the table and closer to her.
When Arbutny receives a letter regarding the decline of his stock, it instructs him to remit payment by Tuesday March 20. However, the story takes place in 1938, when March 20 was a Sunday. (Note: the film was made in 1945, and in that year, March 20 was a Tuesday.)
