The first appearance of Duncan Renaldo in his most famous role, the Cisco Kid. He would star as Cisco in three films released in 1945, then after Gilbert Roland played Cisco in six films released during 1946 and 1947, Renaldo returned to the role in five films released from 1948 through 1950. He then starred in the entire run of The Cisco Kid (1950) , which was the first TV series filmed in color. He retired from acting after the series was canceled.
This film marks the return of the popular Cisco Kid series, hence the name. The first Cisco Kid film, The Caballero's Way (1914) , had William R. Dunn in the lead. Vester Pegg was Cisco in a 1919 film. Then Warner Baxter took over the role in five films between 1928 and 1939, winning a Best Actor Academy Award for his first appearance as Cisco, In Old Arizona (1928). Caesar Romero played the part in six films from 1939 through 1941, before the U.S. entry into World War II suspended the series.
