Unlike most films produced in Italy in 1944-45 during the Republic of Salò (when Mussolini was deposed and the country occupied by the Germans), this movie was more or less distributed normally. It was released in February 1945.
This was the last film for Osvaldo Valenti and Luisa Ferida, two of the best-loved and most active actors of '30s and '40s Italian cinema. Because of Valenti's long association with fascist officials, he and Ferida, with whom he had been romantically linked for year, were executed by the partisans in the streets of Milan in April 1945.
Final film of Luisa Ferida.
