Interesting to see the early renditions here of Sylvester, Tweety and the bulldog (Hector/Spike/Butch). But Mel Blanc's voice characterizations are unmistakable.
The title refers to the French fairy tale "Beauty and the Beast" first published by Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve in 1740.
Tweety gets his name here in the opening credits: Starring TWEETY.
Tweety is a blush colored pink here, but would eventually turn canary yellow in later shorts.
All of the characters break the fourth wall, something that would become a signature move in later cartoons.
