The movie begins with the message that Karl Lueger is dying, three days before his actual death. In real life the health condition of Karl Lueger was critical before that. The Viennese have been prepared for Lueger's death already a month ago, e.g. by the newspapers.
The layout of the newspaper "Neue Freie Presse" is incorrect. In the movie it has a central headline, which it didn't have in real life. The main headline was originally on the left.
As mentioned and shown correctly in most part of the movie, Karl Lueger was blind in the last days of his life. However in many scenes, e.g. when standing at the podium in the city hall, or when arguing about traitors, he is moving his body very skilfully, which would be unusual for a person who is blind for not a very long time.
In the last part of the movie Karl Lueger mentions that he has the German ethnic. It is very unlikely since when was born in the Vienna area and lived in Austria all his life. He always saw himself as an Austrian nationalist. He was even opposed the Austrian Pan-Germans's plan to union German-speaking areas of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire with the German Reich under the rule of Otto von Bismarck.
