The aircraft on the "transcontinental flight", presumably from Stockholm to Paris, and which landed safely, rather than crashed, after a mechanical failure, is a British registered de Havilland 84 Dragon. Unfortunately one of the characters hides the registration markings.

Its earliest Post-WWII telecasts took place in Boston Tuesday 21 June 1949 on WBZ (Channel 4), in Los Angeles Saturday 9 July 1949 on KTSL (Channel 2), in Dallas Sunday 25 October 1949 on KBTB (Channel 8), and in Chicago Sunday 15 January 1950 on WGN (Channel 9).
