The techno thriller “Mr. Robot” became a surprise cult success last year. It received widespread critical acclaim and gained a rapid popularity online. The series follows Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek), a cyber security engineer by day and master hacker by night who joins fsociety, a secret hacktivist collective that seeks to bring down Evil Corp, one of the biggest conglomerates in the world. At the end of last season, fsociety succeeded in bringing Evil Corp down, but they’re only just learning the true cost of such an action.

In consideration of the political upheaval that took place during the last half of the 18th century, known as The American Revolution, that would lead to The Declaration of Independence, adopted on July 4, 1776, marking the formation of a new sovereign nation, which called itself the United States of America - a date we now celebrate annually, and will be honoring this weekend, ahead of a long holiday weekend... I thought I'd have some fun and highlight a few of what I'd call "revolution films" that don't necessarily have anything to do with the American Revolution, but that I think join it in spirit, and that you might want to add to your to-see list to watch over the...

Veterans Day movies on TCM: From 'The Sullivans' to 'Patton' (photo: George C. Scott in 'Patton') This evening, Turner Classic Movies is presenting five war or war-related films in celebration of Veterans Day. For those outside the United States, Veterans Day is not to be confused with Memorial Day, which takes place in late May. (Scroll down to check out TCM's Veterans Day movie schedule.) It's good to be aware that in the last century alone, the U.S. has been involved in more than a dozen armed conflicts, from World War I to the invasion of Iraq, not including direct or indirect military interventions in countries as disparate as Iran, Guatemala, and Chile. As to be expected in a society that reveres people in uniform, American war movies have almost invariably glorified American soldiers even in those rare instances when they have dared to criticize the military establishment.

She looks amazing on the cover of the new issue of Rolling Stone, but unfortunately Julia Louis-Dreyfus' back tattoo is a conversation piece for all the wrong reasons.
The fake inking looks to be the Declaration of Independence and Us Constitution all rolled into one, given the “We The People” intro and the John Hancock signature.
However, there is no document with both of those elements combined, therefore history nerds began slamming the magazine for messing it up.
“Today” anchor Al Roker joked, "[Hancock] would have if it had been like that,” while Savannah Guthrie openly wondered, “Who first discovered it? Who was looking so closely at that portion of the picture?”
A rep from Rolling Stone’s publisher Wenner Media even tried to cover the flub- "The Declaration of Independence is on the other side, but we couldn't fit in all the signatures."
Making light of the boo-boo, Julia tweeted,...

Washington -- President Barack Obama is noting that it's not just the nation's birthday, it's his daughter Malia's, too.
At a sun-splashed Independence Day barbeque on the White House South Lawn, the president and first lady Michele Obama thanked members of the military for their service to the nation. The Declaration of Independence was adopted 237 years ago on July 4, 1776. Malia Obama turned 15 on Thursday.
The Obamas spoke to the crowd and then spent about 10 minutes shaking hands and posing for pictures with babies dressed in red, white and blue ahead of evening fireworks on the National Mall.
The Uso sponsored the event and expected about 1,200 military personnel and their families to attend. Also there were members of Obama's administration and their families.

My apologies if my review title is reminding anyone else of the Laguna Beach theme song, but it seemed like the perfect theme for this week's Switched at Birth!
"The Declaration of Independence" was all about revealing the truth.
Whether it was Bay deciding to stop lying to her parents or Daphne confessing her feelings to Chef, everyone had something to come clean about.
I was wondering when Daphne was going to find out about Chef and Melody's hook up. Is it me or is Bay the worst secret keeper on this show? Maybe Emmett knew that when he decided to confide in her about his mom and Chef hooking up. It doesn't matter if it's "just a simple crush," you should always just tell the truth. You can never know how serious someone else's feelings are.
Daphne obviously liked Chef a lot more than she expressed. She was giving Melody that cold death stare.

If American Idol is the good, old-fashioned courtship of televised singing competitions, then The Voice is its modern, speed-dating cousin. When it comes to NBC’s buzzy reality hit, there’s no time for slowly inching your arm across the back of your favorite contestant’s movie-theater seat. Quite the opposite, The Voice demands love at first note — or pretty darn close to it. The show will crown its Season 1 champ next Wednesday, June 29 — before this year’s Fourth of July fireworks have snapped, crackled, and popped, and after a mere four weeks of live-performance voting rounds. Only time will...
