John Mulford : Say, how did you come to get tangled up with these rustlers?
Buck Gordon : Oh, I don't know. Just happened to be ridin' over a hill, saw some boys skin the hide - didn't look right. So I just corraled them and brought them to where I saw your crowd.
John Mulford : And without firing a shot.
Rance Radigan : Maybe you're not so good at shootin'.
Buck Gordon : I don't see any medals hangin' on *you*.

[as the sheriff's posse breaks up after their unsuccessful search for cattle rustlers, Buck rides into town with two bound prisoners]
Sheriff : What's the meaning of this, stranger? Who are these hombres and who are you?
Buck Gordon : Are you the sheriff?
Sheriff : You know who I am. Answer my question.
Buck Gordon : Well, my name's Buck Gordon. As for these hombres here - they didn't introduce themselves. That is, their names.
-
Sheriff : Now straight talkin's gonna help you a sight more than beatin' round the bush.
Buck Gordon : All right, Sheriff. I happened to be ridin' over a hill. These hombres here started someethin' I had to finish. They were so doggone busy buryin' a hide that they didn't see me watchin' 'em. Anybody here recognize this brand?
John Mulford : Yes, that's my brand! And this hide is from one of my best calves.
Buck Gordon : Didn't think they were going to bury one of their own hides.

[to a horse that belonged to one of the rustlers]
Buck Gordon : You're a mighty fine horse. You just fell in with bad company, that's all.
-
[Buck has just saved Mary from being trampled by a herd of stampeding horses]
Buck Gordon : Say, what are you doin' down here? Don't you know that horses' hooves are hard to comb out of your hair?
-
John Mulford : You've been lucky so far, Gordon. I hope you keep out of trouble.
Buck Gordon : Keep out of trouble? I thought you were payin' me to find it!
-
Buck Gordon : Someone's dizzy and it ain't me!
