At the French school, the girls find out about their mother by reading a copy of the Daily Mirror dated 14 May 1932. At length, they proceed to London, and through several events, then go on to the club, printing out notices of its re-opening, set for 14 May 1932.
When Dorothy is having her photograph taken for the newspaper, she is facing left, away from ladder. The newspaper has her facing the opposite direction, towards the ladder.
The film begins in 1920, then advances to 1925, but during this time, all of the women's hairstyles and clothes, and the orchestra music played in the first night club, are strictly in the 1932 mode.
