The Hick is a delightful and very funny silent film from 1921. It stars Larry Semon and the beautiful Marion Aye. Larry is a poor farmhand who falls in love with Marion (the farmer's daughter). He proposes marriage but she refuses. Instead she flees the farm to be a dancer in a chorus line. Larry goes after her and brings her back to the farm. Along the way there are a lot of stunts and laughs and you get to see Marion in some very revealing costumes.
Marion Aye was a very talented actress. She started her career as a Mack Sennett bathing beauty and appeared in more than dozen films. Sadly she committed suicide in 1951 at the age of forty-eight. Only a few of her movies still exist so it was wonderful to see her in The Hick.
