As Viola Drayton, Minter is the daughter of a British major who is forced to leave her in the care of his attorney's family while he goes to war. When the family learns that the major has been killed, they spend all of the money he left them for her care and turn little Mary into a household servant. Having always dreamed of being a fairy, she runs away to perform in the chorus in a musical comedy, but finds life no better there. The waif is a homeless boy that she befriends who saves her from freezing to death. Some creaky over-acting as is typical of films of this period. According to a Mary Miles Minter web page, this is a lost film. No more! It was viewed at Cinefest in Syracuse New York in March, 2003.
