- Inspector Rivera and Rex receive a strange visit from a war widow, who claims the ghost of her dead husband is responsible for the murder of a man and the bashing of another. The 'ghost' however is more - and less - than it appears to be.
- Inspector Rivera and his team are called to the scene of what appears to be a suicide. Apparently, a member of White Brotherhood, a neo-Nazi movement, has jumped off an eight-storey building. But suspicion is raised about the suicide theory as the investigation links the case to similar deaths a few years before.
- A few nights before the comet named after him is due to appear, astronomer Varinelli is working in the observatory when he is blinded by some eye drops he uses. An investigation discovers foul play and Inspector Fabbri and Rex get on the case.

- Inspector Rivera's former girlfriend, Sara, rings him seeking help. She's seen her partner Francesco hanging from a tree in her garden. But when Rivera arrives, the body isn't there, and his team begins to raise doubts about Sara's state of mind. A reappearance by Francesco causes Sara to question her own sanity.
- Rex has been poisoned. He MUST have an antidote within 72 hours. They only get it from Tarantini if the police leave him alone for these 72 hours so he can find the loot from the robbery.

While trying to solve the case, Rivera and his colleagues at the police station are literally left holding the baby.
- Inspector Rivera and Rex are after an elusive criminal called 'The Grey', but must compete with a rogue policeman Paolo Miano, who is also looking for the offender, seeking revenge for the death of his brother. Their efforts are thwarted by a mole who is always one step ahead of their moves.

- An undercover policeman, Michele Rossi, infiltrated in a major criminal organisation, is ambushed and killed by two mysterious professional killers. Inspector Terzani, a close friend of the victim, disobeys Gori's orders and conducts his own investigation. In incognito, Terzani and Rex get themselves admitted as patients in a luxurious private clinic run by an important specialist, Dr. Nevio Cangelosi.
- A senior post office official is murdered in his flat. Terzani and Rex's investigations seem to point to the victim's ex-wife, who has never resigned herself to her husband's separation. So many clues seem to lead to her that Gori decides to detain her for further questioning. Terzani and Rex, however, discover that the situation is much more complex and dangerous, as they find themselves on the track of a mysterious dismantled atomic bomb which a gang of Chinese criminals are smuggling through Italy. Having succeeded in intercepting some components of the bomb, the inspector and Rex are still hunting the final piece, containing the plutonium necessary to detonate the device, in Rome's Fiumicino Airport.
- A female teacher taking part in a school outing to Rome comes to the police station to report that one of her students, Sara Borelli, has been bullied and drugged while she was in the hotel. Interrogated by Terzani, Sara recounts how she had been unwittingly drugged by classmate Clara Moretti. But then Clara's dead body is found just near the police station, having fallen from the bathroom window. What at first had seemed a tragic accident soon turns out to be a case of murder among classmates - and possibly a teacher. But the terrible truth will require all Rex's skills and intelligence before it is finally revealed.

- Inspector Rivera and Rex go to a charity event in a wealthy man's villa, only to become trapped in a hostage situation. A group of masked men hold the party guests hostage demanding the combination of a safe. But the host has escaped and is reluctant to give them the combination.
- When an actress is killed, Inspector Rivera and Rex are called to investigate and soon find that a number of people had a motive to get rid of her - including her producer, her co-star, and his wife. Meanwhile, Rex discovers he has a talent for acting.

Terzani follows various leads that introduce him to the milieu of Master Mind, the ultimate guru for timid would-be seducers. The victim appears to have been killed by one of his numerous female conquests, but all of the possible traces are dead-ends. But the inspectors soon discover he had been trying to break into another industry.

- Filippo Gori spends the night at his girlfriend Donatellas home. She is a journalist. The next morning he finds her dead.
- Youngster Stefano Bianchi is killed in an illegal motorbike race. His bike was sabotaged, and he drugged. His fiancée Fabiola admits the dope in their apartment was supplied to both of them by dealer Germano 'the rat' Luccheri, who says there is big betting on the street races. Lorenzo's team also examines Stefano's employer, Ernesto Di Clemente's garage. Morini poses as a new racer. Rex apparently suffers from depression.
- Terzani goes to Puglia after an accomplice ("il Rosso") of a fugitive prisoner (Tarantini) has been killed there.
- When a man is found dead in his private sauna, Inspector Rivera and Rex investigate the suspicious circumstances in which the sauna door was jammed shut, causing the man to suffer a heat-induced heart attack. Soon Rivera finds that the man's mistress, his brother and his girlfriend all had a motive to kill him.
- When the president of a chocolate factory, Ruggiero Onorati, dies from eating a poisoned chocolate, Terzani and Rex focus their investigation on the man's family, where various bitter conflicts come to light. The victim's sister, Giulia Onorati, had angrily fallen out with him over company strategy concerning the family chocolate business. However, the investigations are turned upside down when an epidemic of botulinus poisoning - a toxin contained in a batch of chocolate snack biscuits produced by the victim's company - hits Rome.
- Terzani and Rex investigate when the wealthy owner of a construction company is killed by a rifle shot during a hunting party.
- The president of a rugby club, Eugenio Sartor, is killed in his home shortly after watching a team training session. Sartor, the owner of the Eagles, had been forced to seek help from his brother-in-law Mazzilli to put the club's finances in order. Mazzilli had thus become the victim's business partner, relinquishing his ownership of a second division football club. Terzani and Rex are initially suspicious of one of the players, Michele Caccia, and then of a criminal implicated in a football match-fixing scandal, Merlo. The latter, however, is shot dead by Mazzilli while trying to kidnap Sartor's daughter. Terzani and Rex have a lot to untangle, between family conflicts, match-fixing and money laundering.
- An irresistibly attractive tango teacher, Corrado Fanti, is found murdered in his tango school. He has been poisoned, and his home ransacked in search of something. The investigations concentrate on the tensions and romances surrounding the handsome teacher's relations with his female students, perpetually competing for the privilege of dancing - and more - with him. While investigating, Terzani and Rex discover that the school's female tango teacher is being targeted by the same killer.
- While Terzani, Rex and Monterosso are enjoying themselves at the 'Magicland' amusement park, a dancer named Marie who performs in one of the shows is found murdered. The investigations focus on the professional rivalries and jealousies between assorted dancers and stunt men, and then on Massimo Forghieri, the park's director, whom Terzani and Rex discover runs a thriving illegal amphetamine trade among his employees. But the solution to the murder case is far more complex and contorted, and has its roots in a series of tragic events in the past which continue to cause bloodshed in the present.
- A soldier working on project "Soldato futuro" is found dead.
- Rex moved to Rome with Fabbri. There, a third man is shot with the same weapon as the two Austrians in the allegedly closed case. Fabbri asks Viennese colleague Erika Hedl to come to Rome this time.

DNA testing concludes the bones are the remains of Alessandro Solferino, a young man who disappeared three years earlier. Fabbri soon discovers that the deceased's father, a wealthy businessman, has some skeletons in his closet.
- After Alberto Monterosso and Francesca (they met when A.M. was reading for some blind people) shared a meal together one evening, Francesca disappears.
- Inspector Fabbri and Rex, along with Inspector Morini, investigate the murder of a renowned concert pianist in his dressing room after a concert. They find the draft of a will and a petition for divorce left by the maestro.
- In downtown Rome, three men are shot dead at the same time in three different spots. It's immediately clear that this is the work of a first-class marksman. But while two of the victims have no ID, the third one turns out to be a Colombian student. Something doesn't add up. Inspector Rivera and Rex are called in to investigate.
- A businessman has an appointment with an escort girl. The next day the girl is found dead. Terzani and Rex investigate.
- Art critic Kurt Castro has been murdered in his home. It is alleged from sources in the police that it has to do with homosexual prostitution. But is it so?
- A restaurateur cannot pay protection money. His brother is shot while trying to hide his niece from the villains.
- A professor from an online university is found murdered in a suburb of Rome. The investigations focus on the university, and Inspector Terzani and Rex explore the variegated world of the online Faculty, which has bases in Rome, Novedrate and Messina. The professor had taught cultural anthropology, and it is this discipline which puts the inspector on the track of a mysterious spiritual community which the professor had suggested as the subject of a graduation thesis on the method of "participating observation".
- When Clara is found dead in her husband's car after a crash, Inspector Rivera suspects that it was no accident and gets to work to investigate her death with the help of Rex. He finds everyone seems to have a good motive for killing Clara: her jealous husband, her lover, and the step-daughters who hated her.

- In high society family, a count commits suicide, so Rex and Lorenzo investigate this event. In the meantime, there are other murders.
- Valentina Cavalli is a key witness in a conspiracy trial against a bank. On the day she is due to appear in court to testify, a gas explosion occurs in the flat next door to hers. The gas mains have been tampered with and it's obvious that someone wants her dead. But who is behind the attack? Inspector Rivera and Rex investigate.

- Fabbri, (grumpily) Rex and (denying to be a fan) inspector Morini miss a soap episode to examine the scene of the shooting of Marco Pagani (37), a remarkably well-housed unemployed Roman. Fingerprints lead to trucker Fiocca, who transported wooden crates for him. They contained Etruscan art finds on a Ghini's building site, which would be shut down for a proper dig of officially reported. The team reconstructs the fencing tracks which the killer tries ruthlessly to blank, using violence again.
- A young man is killed. A little girl is kidnapped. Rex goes undercover as a diabetic coma sniffing dog. A person is killed by a car bomb.
- When a young labourer falls to his death at a building site, Inspector Rivera and Rex suspect foul play. They soon discover that he had been the toy boy of the rich widow who owns the site, until he had fallen in love with her daughter.
