- Roger Wilco is relaxing at his favorite pub somewhere in time and space when heavily armed soldiers enter the room. Carrying a parting message from Roger's old nemesis, Sludge Vohaul, they plan to get rid of the janitorial hero, execution style. That is, until a man with an over-sized hair dryer helps Roger escape through a time rip into the future. Now Roger Wilco has woken up on his home planet, some time in a meta-fictional Space Quest XII. It is a grim, dystopian future: the series has gone to ruin without its hero, and Vohaul rules supreme. Roger must find a way to avoid Vohaul's henchmen, fulfill his destiny, and learn about a few surprises that await him in his own future.
- Roger Wilco, the brave interstellar janitor who has already saved the universe from many great dangers, is now in a very embarrassing position. His commanders show no respect for his courageous actions. Instead, he is being accused of all kinds of violations against the galactic law, is deprived of all the honors he got, and as a token of mercy, is allowed to return to his old job - cleaning closets... But those unfortunate events are just the beginning of much bigger troubles Roger will get into. Once again, the future of galaxy depends on him! Space Quest 6 revolves around a plot from Sharpei, an elderly widow of a StarCon Admiral to live on forever. Her plot involved the stealing of a younger body and placing her consciousness into it. Roger Wilco is dragged into this plot against his will as the body to be used, but he is rescued at the last second by his friend and former love interest Stellar Santiago. In rescuing Roger, Stellar is presumably killed in an explosion, but in reality was kidnapped by Sharpei and is being used as her new body. After receiving a distress call from the supposedly dead Stellar, Roger is determined to find her and save her.
- Roger Wilco, the buffoonish space janitor, is now a cadet at StarCon Academy, and it's not long before a freak accident sends Roger's test scores through the roof, landing him a position as the captain of a starship! How appropriate-he gets a garbage scow. Before long, Roger and his crew get mixed up in someone else's sketchy dealings that now threaten the entire galaxy, an unpaid debt from Roger's past returns to haunt him, and Roger finally meets the woman who will supposedly become his wife and bear the child who will go back in time to save him in Space Quest IV... except he totally botches his introduction and makes an utter fool of himself.
- After entering the escape pod in Space Quest II, Roger fell into a deep sleep. Well, in this installment, Roger is jarred awake when his ship is sucked into a junk freighter. After escaping, he goes to a Mcdonalds-Like place where he plays a game called Astro Chicken. After beating it he receives a message that the creators are being held hostage and forced to make games for an evil company called Scumsoft.
- As the story begins, the Starship Arcada is under attack. The evil Sariens have boarded and are killing off the crew, one by one. The all-powerful Star Generator has been stolen, the self-destruct sequence has been initiated, and all appears lost. But wait! There, asleep in the broom closet, is our hero, Roger Wilco... the janitor? He steps out from his afternoon slumber to find his co-workers dead and strewn about the floor. Using only his wits or what he has of them anyway, Roger makes it to an escape pod seconds before the Arcada explodes. With the might of the Star Generator on their side, the Sariens are now capable of destroying entire planets. Roger's pod crash lands on the desert planet of Kerona, and from there he has to overcome traps, battle monsters, and find a way back to the Sarien mother ship before his home planet of Xenon is blown to pieces.

But soon the furor over his heroics died down and Roger became yesterday's news. His hard work did get him promoted to the spot of head janitor on one of Xenon's space stations, which is small consolation as he's the only member of the sanitation staff and most of the rest of the crew can't stand him. Xenon has moved on. But even if the rest of the universe no longer remembers what Roger did, one man hasn't forgotten. Unfortunately that man is Sludge Vohaul, the mad scientist who hired the Sariens to steal the Star Generator and use it for evil. As arch-villains are wont to do, he not only cooks up another scheme to bring the galaxy to its knees. But also has his flunkies kidnap Roger to exact some payback for thwarting his previous scheme.
