- The movie deals with the real life story of East German singer and writer Gerhard Gundermann and his struggles with music, life as a coal miner and his dealings with the secret police (STASI) of the GDR.
- Detective Chief Inspector Henry Koitzsch and Detective Inspector Michael Lehmann don't know what to do next: three months ago Uwe Baude was lying dead in the entrance of his house, murdered by stitches in the abdomen and lungs. The case is mysterious, there are no indications of a motive, the perpetrator disappeared into the night without a trace. The two investigators have so far not been able to find a suspect, there are no indications, no one has seen anything. What exactly happened that night in front of Uwe Baude's house? Now, as a last resort, a large-scale radio cell evaluation should help. People who telephoned in the vicinity of the crime scene on the night of the murder will be summoned. Koitzsch and Lehmann are confronted with a multitude of statements and possible witnesses. They question meticulously, sort out and reach the limits of their resilience. The focus is on three people who couldn't be more different: the convicted Maik Gerster, the disoriented old railroad worker Günter Born and the erratic will-o'-the-wisp Katrin Sommer. The witnesses contradict each other and stumble. Did you see anything or even have something to do with the case? The commissioners look into very different lives and worlds, while Uwe Baude's murderer remains a phantom who must have always crossed the paths of the witnesses. But finally there is a hot lead: The testimony of a certain Rainer, who telephoned directly in front of the house on the night of the crime, leads the investigators to Uwe Baude's neighbors, Olaf and Silke Berger. Olaf, Silke and Rainer contradict each other, they try to cover something up. The investigators get deeper and deeper into the bizarre, lying swamp of drinkers. But what really happened that night three months ago?
- Halle on the Saale. The eight-year-old Inca disappeared without a trace. While Inspector Michael Lehmann hopes to find the elementary school student alive, his colleague Inspector Henry Koitzsch has a cruel premonition. In fact, the little girl's body was discovered a short time later in an allotment. The worst has happened. Feverish investigations begin. The family environment is examined and well-known criminals also become the focus of the investigation. At the same time, the inspectors are conducting investigations into Inca's school. Here Inspector Koitzsch meets an old acquaintance: the teacher Monika Hollig - his blind date from the first episode. She too is in an emotional state of emergency. At the same time, the popular math teacher Mr. Krein comes under suspicion. He maintains a close relationship with his students and especially with Inka. Maybe too intimate? A vigilante group threatens Krein's life and puts additional pressure on the commissioners. But Koitzsch and Lehmann leave no stone unturned to find the perpetrator. In the end, the solution to the case is as surprising as it is shocking.
