- Beth has cooked a vegetable curry for Ian and Gordon's anniversary, but there's no such thing as a quiet family meal with the neighbours inviting themselves over and hijacking the occasion.
- Alan has bought a family-sized box of doughnuts when he was only supposed to fetch some milk. Michelle forces him to share them with the neighbours when the new health-conscious residents, Ash and Iqbal, turn up to introduce themselves.
- With Eric and Colin away on a golfing holiday and Alan off out to watch the footie, Michelle has invited Beth, Cathy and Christine over for a Girls' Night. As the drink and the jokes flow the ladies bond but things get tense as well.

When Ian also turns up having argued with Taz Beth and Eric find themselves with an unexpected full house leading to another mishap.
- Beth and Cathy attend Jaz and Ian's flat warming party, where Cathy gets very drunk and antagonizes a neighbour who has complained about the noise, ending with them all getting locked out of the flat. Eric and Colin prepare to watch tennis on television but whilst waiting have a game of their own and have to retrieve the ball from Christine's garden, resulting in an injury, a curry, and a mess on the floor before everybody ends up in front of the box.
- On the eve of Eric's birthday he just wants peace and quiet but is interrupted by Jaz and Ian and Cathy and Colin, bearing alcoholic gifts - which they drink as Eric is on the wagon. They are followed by Christine, somewhat the worse for wear after attending a funeral, and Sophie who, along with Cathy and Colin, has a confession to make to the assembled company.
