- Joey and Pee Wee go out fishing and meet up with two other fishermen. But they are not who they seem to be. Things go bad when they find out the fishermen are really diamond thieves. The diamond thieves kidnap Pete to help them get through the police roadblock.
- It's August 26th and it's Packy's birthday. He gets what he's been wanting, a new rifle. He and Joey go out hunting, but they run into trouble.
- A mining engineer and his son come to do some research near the Broken Wheel Ranch. Jim invites them to park their travel trailer at the ranch. An outlaw breaks into the barn at night and steals a horse. The Sheriff enlists Jim and Pete to join the posse. But while they're gone, Joey and Ronnie (Lars Henderson) go looking for the outlaw.
- Aunt Harriet comes to visit the Broken Wheel Ranch. All she finds is dirt, grime, and disorder. WIll Jim, Pete, and the boys survive Aunt Harriet's visit? Princess, Fury's mare, has a colt and they name him Thunder.
- Arthur (Peter Votrian) and his mother move into a nearby ranch for the summer. Arthur is sickly and the doctor thinks that horse riding and relaxation would do him good. Joey and Jim think Arthur's mother is a little too overprotective.
- Jim and the Sheriff organize a bike safety program after a near miss accident on the county roads involving Joey, Pee Wee and their friends.
- Pee Wee (Jimmy Baird) comes back to visit the ranch. He's been learning all about petroleum engineering from his father. Joey and Pee Wee find old Mr. Farnum at his wildcat oil well and he's been hurt. Old Mr. Farnum has been experiencing unexplained accidents at the oil well. Joey and Pee Wee investigate.
- The Broken Wheel's mortgage holder wants to own Fury and convinces Joey to enter him into a winner-take-all horse race where Fury himself is the prize. An Irish hobo happens along and helps train Joey and Fury for their big race.
- Bank robbers stash their loot at a local ghost town. Fury saves Joey and Frankie from the robbers.
- Joey and Pee Wee are out in the woods working on their Boy Scout merit badges. Sally is also out working on her Girl Scout badges. They learn it's easier when they all work together.
- Jim Newton captures a magnificent wild stallion and brings him back to the ranch. Later in town, he comes to the aid of a small boy who is falsely accused of breaking a window and brings him back to the ranch. The boy and the horse soon become fast friends.
- Joey gets a rifle and goes hunting with Pete. What they find is trouble in the form of an escaped criminal.
- A Social Worker comes to check up on Joey and Jim. Joey and Fury save a man from a rattle snake bite by fetching the doctor.
- The Newtons babysit Betsy, a spoiled young girl whose mother is marrying Jim's friend Bill. Betsy misses her dad, who was killed in the Korean War. Betsy's grief, anger, and hatred of Bill make her stay with the Newtons a trying time.
- Joey befriends a handicapped boy Tim Wheeler (Peter Votrian) who's bitter about not being able to walk, run, or play ball like the other boys. Joey and Tim and the guys work on a ham radio project for school.
- Local ranchers think that gypsies are stealing horses. Then Fury is rustled which leads to the truth.
- Joey and the guys want to start a little league baseball team, but they're a man short. Fury plays center field. Unfortunately horses aren't allowed in little league. Joey and Tom learn a lesson about teamwork.
- Joey comes to the rescue of a road tramp (George Chandler). Jim hires him for some odd jobs around the ranch. The guy turns out to be the famous ventriloquist, The Great Voxo. He promises to teach Joey how to throw his voice.
- A stranger shows up at the ranch, claiming to be Joey's real father and threatening to separate the boy from Jim and Fury. Jim knows the man isn't who he claims to be and has to stop him.
- Joey wants a car so he and Pee Wee start working on an old beat-up jalopy from the local junk yard. They fix it all up and their friend Chuck 'borrows' the car and wrecks it.
- Joey starts the Capitol City Junior Achievement Corporation in the barn. Packy gets elected as treasurer. Packy starts business dealings without checking with anyone. But all isn't lost because the Junior Achievement Corporation is on the job.
- Joey signs up to ride in the Junior Rodeo. But he's up against the local champion, Ty Jones (played by Sammy Ogg). Jim, Pete, and Fury help Joey learn to ride a bucking bronco.
