Composer, songwriter ("Isle d'Amour", "That's Where the West Begins"), author and producer, brother of Gus Edwards, and uncle of Joan and Jack Edwards. He was educated in public schools, and appeared in vaudeville, then was a staff writer for music publishing firms. He produced cabaret shows in New York, and wrote songs for the Broadway musicals "Maid In America" and "The Blue Paradise". Joining ASCAP in 1914 as a charter member, his chief musical collaborators included Blanche Merrill, Earl Carroll, and Herbert Reynolds.
