Actor/producer/director Leo Maloney was owner of the Leo Maloney Studio located in the San Bernardino Mountains of southern California. Several early westerns were filmed at the studio, which overlooked orange groves and included a small city that housed 35 people who lived there year-round. The last film he directed and produced, Overland Bound (1929), was one of the first all-talking pictures. After a celebration for the new film, Maloney suffered a heart attack and was unable to enjoy the film's success.- Lena Amsel was born on 27 July 1898 in Lódz, Poland, Russian Empire. She was an actress, known for The Tragedy of Love (1923), Der allmächtige Dollar (1923) and The Countess of Paris (1923). She died on 2 November 1929 in Paris, France.
