Naoko was born in Nagoya, Japan and moved to New York with her parents when she was four before returning to Japan, then relocating to London when she was 12. Enako commenced her involvement in cosplay together with a friend who invited her after becoming interested in 2007 in the anime television The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Rozen Maiden.
