Joshua R Jones was born on August 15th, 1990 in the San Joaquin Valley of Northern California to two Air Force parents. However, Josh spent all of his childhood years in Northern (Clare) Michigan. He has one younger sister. From an early age, Josh's maternal grandfather introduced Josh to early comedians such as Laurel and Hardy, while his parents were also fans of Little Rascals, Shirley Temple, and Ma and Pa Kettle. At age ten, Josh knew that he wanted to be in the movies. In order to pursue his goal, Josh used his parent's Sony CCD-TRV94E Camcorder and started making his own material.
Josh made his first big-screen debut, in 2011, with a featured part in Restitution (made in Michigan) (2011) with C. Thomas Howell, Pony Boy Curtis from The Outsiders (1983) and Robert from the Cold War invasion drama Red Dawn (1984). A year later, Josh was featured in the Red Dawn remake (2012), and worked alongside Josh Hutcherson who also played Robert.
