This attractive, happy go lucky blonde actress, educated at the University of Kansas and a former ballet soloist, first broke into both TV and cinema screens in the mid 1970s and through her appearances in several well remembered horror and sci-fi films, and Dee quickly gained a cult following among the fantasy film fans. Poor Dee always seemed to be on the wrong side of some malevolent person or evil creature....she was pursued by a clan of cannibal killers in The Hills Have Eyes (1977), terrorized by a pack of werewolves in the superb The Howling (1981), got a break from the horror, as a sympathetic mom in the mega sci-fi hit E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982), and nearly ends up lunch for a rabid St. Bernard in the heart stopping Cujo (1983).
In the early 1980s, Wallace-Stone actually shared the screen several times with her then husband Christopher Stone before his unfortunate, early demise from a heart attack in October, 1995.
However, typecasting Dee Wallace-Stone as a horror heroine does not do her justice, as unlike some other scream queens whose careers quickly faded, Dee has gone on to have a very busy and varied acting career, appearing in over 90 feature films to date! Her All-American looks and easy going demeanor has seen Dee often cast as a typical suburban mother, a sympathetic friend, or a trusted ally. Fans warm to her endearing smile and natural warmth, and Dee continues to find herself in constant demand in front of the camera, plus she has her own much visited website.- KaDee Strickland was born on 14 December 1975 in Patterson, Georgia, USA. Patty Duke was born Anna Marie Duke on December 14, 1946 in Elmhurst, Queens County, New York, to Frances Margaret (McMahon), a cashier, and John Patrick Duke, a cab driver and handyman. She was seven eighths Irish and one eighth German. Her acting career began when she was introduced to her brother Ray Duke's managers, John and Ethel Ross. Soon after, Anna Marie became Patty, the actress. Patty started off in commercials, a few movies and some bit parts. Her first big, memorable role came when she was chosen to portray the blind and deaf Helen Keller in the Broadway version of "The Miracle Worker". The play lasted almost two years, from October 19, 1959 to July 1, 1961 (Duke left in May 1961).
In 1962, The Miracle Worker (1962) became a movie and Patty won an Academy Award for best supporting actress. She was 16 years old, making her the youngest person ever to win an Oscar. She then starred in her own sitcom titled The Patty Duke Show (1963). It lasted for three seasons, and Patty was nominated for an Emmy. In 1965, she starred in the movie Billie (1965). It was a success and was the first movie ever sold to a television network. That same year, she married director Harry Falk. Their marriage lasted four years. She starred in Valley of the Dolls (1967), which was a financial but not a critical success. In 1969, she secured a part in an independent film called Me, Natalie (1969). The film was a box-office flop, but she won her second Golden Globe Award for her performance in it. In the early 1970s, she became a mother to actors Sean Astin (with writer Michael Yell) and Mackenzie Astin (with actor John Astin).
In 1976, she won her second Emmy Award for the highly successful mini-series, Captains and the Kings (1976). Other successful TV films followed. She received two Emmy nominations in 1978 for A Family Upside Down (1978) and Having Babies III (1978). She won her third Emmy in the 1979 TV movie version of The Miracle Worker (1979), this time portraying "Annie Sullivan".
In 1982, she was diagnosed with manic-depressive illness. In 1984, she became President of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG). In 1986, she married Michael Pearce, a drill sergeant whom she met while preparing for a role in the TV movie, A Time to Triumph (1986). In 1987, she wrote her autobiography, "Call Me Anna". In 1989, she and Mike adopted a baby, whom they named "Kevin". Her autobiography became a TV movie in 1990, with Patty playing herself, from her 30s onward. In 1992, she wrote her second book, "A Brilliant Madness: Living with Manic Depression Illness".
Duke had a long and successful career. She was a political advocate on, among other issues, the Equal Rights Amendment, AIDS awareness, and nuclear disarmament. She died on March 29, 2016, aged 69, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, of sepsis from a ruptured intestine.- Barbara Linhares Ferreira is an American model and actress. Cynthia Gibb was born in Bennington, Vermont, USA on December 14, 1963 to a ballet dancer and teacher. Gibb's early dance training lent grace to her fresh-faced beauty, qualities which won her a modeling contract with New York's Eileen Ford Agency at age 14. Within a year she was on the cover of "Vogue" and "Young Miss." Spotted in a magazine by Woody Allen, Gibb was cast in a minor role as an autograph seeker in the filmmaker's Stardust Memories (1980) and promptly switched to an acting career. Cynthia Gibb graduated high school with honors, but with a sister at Yale and no financial aid available to her, she decided on an acting career. After appearing off-Broadway in "Nathaniel," she landed the recurring part of scatterbrained Suzi Wyatt Carter of daytime television's Search for Tomorrow (1951) right after high school graduation in 1981 at the age of 19. She joined the cast of Fame (1982) and spent three seasons as drama major Holly Laird on the popular series. Between the show's first and second seasons, she starred as a hockey coach's daughter, with whom Rob Lowe fell in love, in Youngblood (1986). Between the second and third seasons, she starred in the much praised Salvador (1986), as a lay worker (based on the real life Jean Donovan) who, along with four nuns, was murdered by an El Salvador death squad. Just before filming Malone (1987), Gibb finished Modern Girls (1986), in which she played, not surprisingly, a young actress. She appeared in the television movies, "Mary Christmas" (2002) (TV) played Mary Maloney opposite actor John Schneider. Cynthia has also appeared in many movies including "A Crime of Passion" (2003) (TV), "A Family Lost" (2007) (TV), "An Accidental Christmas" (2007) (TV) and "A Nanny For Christmas" (2010) with Emmanuelle Vaugier, 'Dean Cain (I)' and Sarah Thompson. Direct from Spartanburg, South Carolina, this tall, blonde actress has earned the respect of stage and film audiences alike for her many touching portrayals of matter-of-fact, down-to-earth Southern folk. For someone who first attracted attention as a hash-slinging replacement for Diane Ladd (herself a replacement for the ever-popular Polly Holliday) in the final, languishing years of the popular CBS sitcom Alice (1976), Celia Weston certainly has evolved into one of the more sought-after character performers of "Deep South" film drama.
Born December 14, 1951, and raised in South Carolina, Celia, along with her sister, enjoyed creating their own little world of characters, acting out small skits and later began appearing in local plays. She did not, however, meet the unanimous encouragement of her family when the one-time art and psychology major at Salem College in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, decided to do an abrupt about-face and study acting. She earned an Artist Diploma in Drama at the North Carolina School of the Arts before moving to London to continue her training. More than determined, she eventually returned to the States in 1977 and studied with Uta Hagen and Herbert Berghof while slinging hash herself in New York City. In between, there was sporadic regional and off-off-Broadway work along with summer stock. At age 28, Celia made a big leap with her Broadway debut in "Loose Ends" (1979) starring Kevin Kline. Following her prime theater role in Edward Albee's "The Lady from Dubuque" in 1980 and a small part in Clint Eastwood's film Honky Tonk Freeway (1981), Hollywood showed her the money when she became the new Southern-fried waitress in town alongside Linda Lavin and Beth Howland on the "Alice" series.
Her character of Jolene was given rather short shrift during the four seasons (1981-1985) she appeared. Although Celia valiantly tried the invest the role with some sass, she was the newcomer and was too often overshadowed by the other two. Following the show's demise, she had a number of lean years before her luck changed again. In 1988, she was handed a couple of featured roles in the movies Stars and Bars (1988) and A New Life (1988). Her penchant for toned-down, unaffected realism was not overlooked. While interspersing theater roles with the sudden upswing of film parts now coming her way, she finally came into her own in both venues in the mid-to-late 1990s. After earning critical applause for her brittle dramatic turn as the backwoods mother of a murdered child in Dead Man Walking (1995), she went on to win an Outer Critics Award and Tony nomination for her Southern matron in Broadway's acclaimed "The Last Night of Ballyhoo" (1997).
Preferring art-house obscurity to mainstream popularity, Celia has stayed true for the most part with classier, character-driven drama and it has paid off in career dividends. An always interesting presence, her gals can tangle and backbite with the best of them or show true grit and/or extreme emotional fragility at times of unbearable sorrow. Celia has also played a variety of dialects over the years. A gregarious and eccentric turn as a possible mother to a searching Ben Stiller in the wonderful Flirting with Disaster (1996) led to her Civil War wife in Ride with the Devil (1999); her grieving, prejudicial Teutonic mother in Snow Falling on Cedars (1999); the part of Cate Blanchett's haughty aunt in The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999); and the Southern belle-like mental patient in K-Pax (2001). In addition, her Southern roots have complimented such Tennessee Williams' plays as "Summer and Smoke" and "Suddenly Last Summer" on Broadway.
Into the millennium, Celia is still going strong. She has been a vibrant presence in such ensemble films as In the Bedroom (2001), Far from Heaven (2002) and The Village (2004). In 2005, she received one of her best roles in years as the dressed-down Southern matriarch in the obscure independent film Junebug (2005), which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.
More recent films include matronly parts in Joshua (2007), The Invasion (2007), The Box (2009), Knight and Day (2010), Goodbye to All That (2014), In the Radiant City (2016), Poms (2019) and Adam (2020). She has essayed just as many parts on both dramatic and comedic series TV, including regular/recurring roles on Our Willie (1913), Memphis Beat (2010), American Horror Story (2011), Modern Family (2009) and Hunters (2020).- Actress

Jesse Garcia
Garcia has been widely recognized for his role in the highly acclaimed "Quinceañera," winner of the Audience Award and the Grand Jury Prize at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival, and Official Selection for the 2006 Berlin Film Festival. For his performance as Carlos, Garcia was nominated and won the prestigious ALMA Award (American Latino Media Arts) as Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture in 2007.
Garcia, can most recently be seen in Joss Whedon's "The Avengers." Number one opening weekend film of all time, with $200.7 and over $1billion worldwide, to date. Other credits include, "A Beautiful Life," opposite Angela Sarafyan, "Periphery," opposite Steven Grayhm, Tessa Thompson, and Jess Weixler, and "Days of Wrath," opposite Wilmer Valderrama, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Ana Claudia Talancon and Laurence Fishburne, where he plays Mario, the Kingpin of the Triple Sevens, in a story about the intertwining lives of a teacher, TV news crew and rival gang members. Also, in Hue Rhodes', "Saint John of Las Vegas,", opposite Steve Buscemi and Romany Malco. As well as, Youssef Delaras', "Bedrooms," with Julie Benz and Xander Berkeley, Mun Chee Yong's, "Where the Road Meets the Sun," Joshua Homnick's, "Los Foley Guys," with Rainn Wilson and Al Madrigal, the highly anticipated zombie flick "Re-Kill," the Broadway debut of the stage production of "The Pee-wee Herman Show."
Garcia also appears in The Sundance 2007 film, "La Misma Luna," also known as "Under the Same Moon," alongside Kate del Castillo and America Ferrera. In addition, Garcia starred in Twentieth Century Fox's, "The Comebacks," where he plays a tough "rich-street kid" football player with an attitude.
Born in Rawlins, Wyoming, Garcia spent most of his childhood in Hanna, WY, a town with a population of just over seven hundred people. His acting debut came in 1987 when he was cast in the challenging role of Brown Bear. With a winter coat turned inside out (to look like brown fur) and construction paper ears pinned to his hood, Garcia recalls that he presented a striking likeness to a real brown bear. With his lines memorized, blocking mastered and adrenaline surging, Garcia (6) was well prepared. He heard his cue line and crawled out of his cave, violently thrashing his head from side to side. With teeth bared and tonsils flaring, he reared up on his hindquarters pawing the air; then he growled with all his might - "RRRAAAWWWRRR!" The first graders (sitting on the floor of their small classroom) giggled. It was not exactly the reaction Garcia was aiming for, but from the mouth of that cardboard cave, an actor was born.
Following this performance, Garcia took a 15-year hiatus from the show business industry to concentrate on his schoolwork. He received grants and scholarships for Co-Ed Cheerleading at Eastern Wyoming College and the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
In the middle of his first year at U of N, a classmate of Garcia's, Jennifer Jerosik, told him that she was moving to Atlanta, GA to study acting with Judson Vaughn, a filmmaker/actor/teacher who she'd heard speaking at a convention in Chicago. Instantly Garcia's Inner-Bear growled again and he decided he wanted to join her.
After a 45-minute telephone interview, Garcia was accepted to study at WHAT Films, the film development/production company and training facility headed by Vaughn. A week later, Garcia dropped out of school, and he and Jennifer packed everything they owned into his 1993, burgundy Mercury Cougar and drove 1,580 miles southeast to Atlanta - not the quickest route to Hollywood, but his years in Atlanta prepared him well for what would become his profession. At WHAT Films he learned to act, write and to direct, and he got sound career advice from Vaughn and from writer/director Ben Taylor (Abgeschminkt!). Others at WHAT who were particularly helpful to Garcia included Roxzane Mims, Lavon Lacey, Chet Dixon and Ralph Price, to name a few.
While in Atlanta, Garcia honed his comedic skills performing in "Sketchworks," Bob Harter, Della Cole and Jen Kelly's sketch comedy group. Garcia's first feature film role came when fellow WHAT Films actor Chet Dixon (Cold Mountain, Days of Wrath) prompted director Stacey Childers to cast him her film "Delivery Boy Chronicles."
In Dec, 2003, he moved to Los Angeles in hopes of advancing his career. In 2005, he was featured in nine national commercials, including such major brands as McDonalds, Toyota, Avis, MGD, Bud Light, State Farm and others. His television and independent films included such projects as HBO's "Walkout," directed by Edward James Olmos, guest spots on FX's Sons of Anarchy, The Sarah Connor Chronicles, ER, The Shield, TNT's The Closer, Law and Order: CI, NCIS, Nickelodeon's Unfabulous, Jerry Bruckheimer's FOX series Justice and FX's Sons of Anarchy.
As well as keeping busy with his acting career, Garcia has taken on the challenge of directing and producing. Producer and lead actor in a short feature titled, "American Identity," directed by Stephen Rollins, he was honored with opening the Short Film Competition at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival. Also, he produced and was a lead actor in John Irwin's short film, "Sold," with an all-star cast and crew, a film about the reality of human trafficking. "Sold" premiered at the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival in 2011 and has made the festival circuit around the world. The DBAC, PSA campaign with fellow filmmakers, Doug Spain, Jeremy Valdez, and Walter Perez.
Garcia recently wrapped principal photography on his directorial debut, short film, "The Price We Pay." A film about a scarred and depressed soldier coming home from war to find his relationship with his neighborhood, best friend and wife, not how he left it. Shot in a less than conventional manner, with subtle science fiction elements, the film is already stirring up attention in the film making and military communities.
As of 2013, Garcia is in post-production for his short, "The Price We Pay." He is also writing and has several projects in development as a producer, director and actor. He is also in development for his feature film directorial debut and is in search of projects to direct in the near future.- Actress

George Furth wrote eleven one-act plays planned for Kim Stanley as each of the separate leads. Hollywood actor Anthony Perkins, interested in directing, asked Sondheim to read the material. After Sondheim read the plays, Sondheim asked Harold Prince for his opinion; Prince thought the plays could form the basis for a musical. The theme would be New York marriages with a central character to examine those marriages. Originally titled "Threes", its plot revolves around Bobby, a single man unable to commit fully to a steady relationship, let alone marriage, four married couples, and one single couple, who are his best friends, and also includes Bobby's three free-wheeling girl friends.
Unlike most book musicals, which follow a clearly delineated plot, "Company" is a concept musical composed of short vignettes, presented in no particular chronological order, linked by a celebration for Bobby's 35th birthday. "Company" was among the first musicals to deal with adult themes and relationships. As Sondheim puts it, "Broadway theater has been for many years supported by upper-middle-class people with upper-middle-class problems. These people really want to escape that world when they go to the theatre, and then here we are with 'Company' talking about how we're going to bring it right back in their faces." "Company" opened in Boston in out-of-town tryouts, receiving mixed reviews, from the Boston Evening Globe "Brilliant", to Variety Magazine "The songs are for the most part undistinguished" and "As it stands now it's for ladies' matinees, homos and misogynists." The book was by Furth; Lyrics and music was by Stephen Sondheim; direction was by Prince.
"Company" opened on April 26, 1970, at the Alvin Theatre in New York City, where it ran for 705 performances after seven previews. Musical staging was by Michael Bennett, assisted by Bob Avian. The set design by Boris Aronson consisted of two working elevators and various vertical platforms that emphasized the musical's theme of isolation. "Company" was honored with the following theatre awards: the 1971 New York Drama Desk Award for (1) Outstanding Book of a Musical awarded to Furth; (2) Outstanding Director of a Musical awarded to Harold Prince; (3) Outstanding Lyrics and (4) Outstanding Music awarded to Stephen Sondheim; (5) Outstanding Set Design was awarded to Boris Aronson. The New York Theatre World Award was awarded to actor Susan Browning. In an unusual move, the Tony Awards committee deemed Larry Kert eligible for a nomination, an honor usually reserved for the actor (Dean Jones, in this case) who technically originates a role.
The musical was nominated for a record setting 14 Tony Award Nominations and won six. "Company" won the (1) Tony Award for Best Musical; (2) Tony Award Best Score (music) and (3) Tony Award Best Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim; (4) Tony Award Best Book of a Musical by George Furth; (5) Tony Award Best Direction for a Musical by Harold Prince; (6) Tony Award Best Scenic Design by Boris Aronson; Nominated for Tony Award Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical (7) Larry Kert; Nominated for Tony Award Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical (8) Elaine Stritch and (9) Susan Browning; Nominated for Tony Award Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical (10) Charles Kimbrough; Nominated for Tony Award Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical (11) Barbara Barrie and (12) Pamela Myers; Nominated for Tony Award Best Choreography (13) Michael Bennett; Nominated for Tony Award Best Lighting Design (14) Robert Ornbo. (In the early 1990s, Furth and Sondheim revised the libretto, cutting and altering dialogue that had become dated and rewriting the end to act one.)- Actress

Born in Chicago, Morey Amsterdam started in Vaudeville at the age of 14, as a straight man for his piano-playing brother. His father, a concert violinist who worked with the Chicago Opera and the San Francisco Symphony, wanted Morey to pursue a career in classical music however Morey had other plans. By the time he was 16, he was working at a Chicago speakeasy owned by Al Brown - better known as Al Capone. When he was caught in the middle of a shootout in the club one night, Amsterdam decided to seek safer bookings. He moved to California, where he became a writer and gag man for such stars as Fanny Brice, Jimmy Durante and Will Rogers. Morey would become known as the "Human Joke Machine" because he could tell a joke about any subject on request. In the 1930s and 1940s, he was on the radio, where his humor brought him fame and notoriety. He was also a songwriter, and some of his best known songs were "Why Oh Why Did I Ever Leave Wyoming?" and "Rum and Coca-Cola". By 1947, he had three different daily radio shows and comedian Fred Allen said, "The only thing I can turn on without getting Amsterdam is the faucet". His first TV show began as a radio program and carried over onto TV, "Stop Me If You've Heard This One" (1948). That same year, he hosted his own variety show, The Morey Amsterdam Show (1948), which ran until 1950. Amsterdam was the host of the talk show Broadway Open House (1950), the precursor to NBC's "The Tonight Show" in its various forms. His real fame, though, would come after he had spent almost four decades in the business, playing the part of wisecracking comedy writer "Buddy Sorrell" in the classic The Dick Van Dyke Show (1961) along with Rose Marie and Van Dyke as writers for the fictional TV variety show "The Alan Brady Show". For Morey, who was reportedly able to recall up to 100,000 jokes, it was the role of a lifetime. After the show ended in 1966, he continued to play nightclub dates and make TV guest-star appearances on shows from The Hollywood Squares (Daytime) (1965) to Caroline in the City (1995). His film career consisted mainly of small roles in such films as Beach Party (1963) and Won Ton Ton: The Dog Who Saved Hollywood (1976), although he did produce and star in Don't Worry, We'll Think of a Title (1966) and received good notices for his standout performance as a weaselly, double-crossing gangster who gets his just desserts in the Charles Bronson gangster film Machine-Gun Kelly (1958).- Barbara Leigh-Hunt trained for the theatre at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, then joined the Old Vic Company in London.
