Attack on Titan was never about the Titans. It's the choices we have to make in life and what all sacrifices we are to make, just to protect that choice. What all we are willing to give and continue living knowing what we lost..
I believe Attack on Titan was a success because we all could see ourselves in almost every character. Devil resides in all of us, but that doesn't make us bad, or good, just because we want to protect what we think is right.
When my friend suggested me to watch AoT, I never thought it would be so emotionally draining. I spent the last fifteen minutes crying my eyes out. But I am glad I watched it all and didn't stop in between.
In brief, it's a masterpiece.
