I guess the story follows the book, but the death at the end was done so quickly and trivially it just didn't feel right. He dies then a quick 10 mins wrapping it up, just not done well. I hoped maybe he'd turn up at the island somehow. Would've made the whole journey seem much more worth it. The ice bit didn't feel like a "yay" moment like it could've. I doubt a season 3 will happen but I'd like it just to rectify this episode somehow. Because you didn't see him really die you were waiting for that moment he might come back and then sheer disappointment when you realise that's it, that's the end.
