"My Sister Was a Bottle Girl!!!"

Warning: Spoilers
Zoe Harrington teaches crime fiction at the college level. But her life takes a major turn where she becomes the center of a drama that takes her deep into the recesses of the criminal mind. And the heart of the story is that her sister Rachel was a "bottle girl"!!!

Zoe is called home after learning of Rachel's death by suicide when she apparently incinerated herself. But soon Zoe suspects that foul play may have been involved when she learns that Rachel had worked at a sophisticated club as a "bottle girl," serving liquor at $1,000 a bottle to male clients expecting favors in return. Rachel apparently became enmeshed with an unsavory tycoon named Richie Evans.

Zoe begins to explore the dark world of bottle girls by becoming one herself! She is hired at the club run by Percy, who believes that her operation is legitimate. But little does Percy realize that her right-hand man Mickey is in cahoots with Richie in a human trafficking ring.

One of the problems of the film was in the casting. Both the male and female characters looked too much alike, and it was difficult to keep all of them straight. The good guy Vincent looked almost exactly like the villain Richie. Missy and the bottle girls were all brunettes and tended to blend together. The film's dark cinematography added to the problem.

At one point in the film, Zoe compared her experience in sleuthing her sister's shady past to a Michael Connelly novel. While the actress turned in a solid performance as Zoe, the convoluted plot and the mishmash of characters did not quite live up the thrills of a crime beat action piece.
