"RAPTOR" (2001, Wynorski) is essentially 4 films edited into one and because the recycling of footage from "CARNOSAUR" (1993, Simon) is so extensive this is like a remake of it but with Eric Roberts in place of Rafael Sbarge and Corbyn Bernsen in place of Dianne Ladd, minus the womb-bursting horror that was irrelevant and reminiscent of "ALIEN" (1979, Scott).
Lookalike actors were hired for continuity between new and recycled material and not a single second of dinosaur footage is new.
The film is called "RAPTOR" but the titular green beast seen roaming the land was the Deinonychus in "CARNOSAUR". Later we see hordes of raptors in a spectacularly edited finale which melds the raptor massacres of "CARNOSAUR II" (1995, Morneau) and "CARNOSAUR III: PRIMAL SPECIES" (1996, Winfrey) as well as the TREX which comes in the form of 3 iterations.
It's very rare that I get to recommend seeing "CARNOSAUR" and its sequels (although I love "PRIMAL SPECIES") but you should see them so you can see what a con "RAPTOR" is.
