He has maintained worldwide renown as a leading musician of his era.

A funeral march, as a musical genre, is a march imitating the solemn pace of a funeral procession.

Some such marches are often considered appropriate for use during funerals and other somber occasions, the most well-known being that of Frédéric Chopin.
