John Landis (born 1950) is an American film director, screenwriter, producer, and actor.

He is best known for the many comedy films that he has directed.

John Landis also directed the music videos for Michael Jackson's "Thriller" and "Black or White". Thriller won the Video Vanguard Award for The Greatest Video in the History of the World.
