Diana Prince of Themyscira has uprooted for the summer of 2020.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, Wonder Woman 1984 will now hit theaters on June 5th, 2020, a full seven months after its original November 2019 release window.
Warner Bros. had initially chosen to bring Diana’s second solo adventure forward by six weeks to stay clear of Star Wars: Episode IX, but this latest reshuffling will allow WW84 to compete in the summer season “where it belongs,” according to Jeff Goldstein, President of Domestic Distribution at the company.
We had tremendous success releasing the first Wonder Woman film during the summer so when we saw an opportunity to take advantage of the changing competitive landscape, we did. This move lands the film exactly where it belongs.
