K'LA Q Methven(II)
- Producer
- Actress
K'La was born in Santa Monica, California in 1994 to Lisa (socialite) and Faicel (poet and gigolo). Naturally, she found comfort in academia. She was raised in Beverly Hills until the age of fourteen when the death of her mother meant moving to Paris to live with her father.
In France she studied fashion design at Esmod and after receiving her bachelors degree continued her studies at the International Fashion Academy (IFA) where she earned her Master's. K'La travelled to China and studied at Polymoda in Florence, Italy to complete her MBA in Luxury Brand Management. Returning to the United States she debuted her first lingerie lines at OC Fashion Week and LA Fashion Week in 2016 aged twenty-two.
She was then CEO of Madame Methven, the world's most luxurious and exclusive lingerie brand, before setting up her media production company, After Dark, in 2022. After Dark has an extensive slate that initially focussed on non-scripted television, but now encompasses scripted shows as well as two features as of 2023.
Every production handled by After Dark follows a branding and ethos that is true to K'La herself: Provocative, daring, funny but startlingly original. K'La's role as CEO of After Dark is to bring together writers, directors and on-screen talent who are willing to push bounds and norms to deliver productions that generate both audiences and headlines.
She is a member of the All Saints Episcopal Church and actively supports the LGBT Youth Center, Monday Spiritual Offering Meal, Laundry Love and the Food Pantry at Los Angeles' Islamic Center.
