- Omer Lavallee was born in 1925. He is known for The National Dream: Building the Impossible Railway (1974) and The Candid Eye (1958). He died on February 5, 1992 in Lachine, Quebec, Canada.
- Lavallee was Corporate Archivist of the Canadian Pacific Railway, and author of books "Narrow Gauge Railways of Canada, An Illustrated Account of the Construction and First Years of the Canadian Pacific Transcontinental Railway", and "Van Horne's Road: An Illustrated Account of the Construction and Early Operation of the CPR".
