Sebastian Leang is a Singaporean Content Creator, best known for directing Singapore's SG50 Golden Jubilee National Day Parade in 2015 and as the original co-creator of Singapore's International Emmy Awards nominated satirical comedy series, The Noose.
He is currently a Senior Executive Producer with Singapore's broadcast network Mediacorp. Having been with Mediacorp for over 20 years, he is a respected individual amongst his fellow peers within the media industry.
Starting out first as an Assistant Producer with the Chinese Entertainment Productions, he honed his production skills & knowledge for the next 2 years. Subsequently, he moved over to the English Entertainment Production side and worked on key local English productions like Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, Wheel of Fortune, Miss Singapore Universe televised pageants and the successful season 1 and 2 of Singapore Idol.
Sebastian's career path with Mediacorp continued to surge forward, with his involvement in both directing and producing shows like The President's Command Performance, President's Star Charity, Celebrate TV50, Home Team Total Defence Show, Singapore F1 Night Race, Celebrate SG50 Bigbang concert, etc. To date, he has won 3 Asian Television Awards and also an International Emmy Awards nomination for the satirical comedy series, The Noose. His info-ed content productions like Meat & Greed and Our Makan Places Lost & Found have been telecast internationally by other television networks worldwide. He is also the Executive Producer and Creator of the highly viewed Toggle Originals short-form drama series Hello from The Other Side - It's Time. He is the Executive Producer for Mediacorp's first online interactive romantic comedy "Adulting", which was released on 1 April 2020 on meWatch. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Sebastian led a production team to produce a daily series titled "Home Together", hosted by Hossan Leong, which targets to share key messages and information regarding Covid-19 to home viewers during the Circuit Breaker, Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the pandemic.
He is the Creative Director and Executive Producer for Let's Celebrate 2020 on 31 Dec 2020, a new year's eve countdown television show in Singapore which had performances by both international and local artistes such as Jason Derulo, Benee, Ronan Keating, Jeremy Zucker, Tones And I, Tabitha Nauser, Shye, ShiGGa Shay, Yung Raja, RRILEY and many more. The show also featured breathtaking night scenes and views of Singapore's Marina Bay skylines through the lens of drone flights.
Sebastian belongs to the pioneering group of transmedia content creators in Mediacorp where content has now become both disruptive and platform agnostic.
