The sequel to the Netflix street-level superhero series has been one of the most anticipated MCU projects since it was announced. With Vincent D’Onofrio and Charlie Cox already having appeared in Hawkeye, Echo, She-Hulk: Attorney At Law, and Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans have a tease of what they can expect from this new dive into Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk. So, let’s dive in and take a look at what we know about Daredevil: Born Again.
This will be a two-season limited series

During the Marvel presentation at Cinemacon this past week, Marvel president Kevin Feige showed off the logo for the “Thunderbolts*” movie coming in 2025. The title now has an asterisk after the name, and many people are wondering if they are going to do “Dark Avengers.”
But who are the Dark Avengers?
The first “Dark Avengers” series ran from 2009 – 2013 and was written spun off from “Secret Invasion.” Basically, the characters are villains or antiheroes who are dressed up like Avengers so people will be more accepting of them. Norman Osborn (Green Goblin) is in charge and is dressed up as an Iron Man knockoff called Iron Patriot.
Osborn is a “reformed villain” who was put in charge of the “Thunderbolts” and later S.H.I.E.L.D., which he renamed H.A.M.M.E.R. From that, he created a new Avengers team made up of villains and antiheroes—something like “Suicide Squad.

The popular Amazon Prime animated series Invincible just had its Season 2 Finale. The series, which is a mature-rated deconstruction of the superhero genre, focuses on a young adult hero trying to find a place in a world full of ever-growing threats, including his own family. But during the finale, there was one moment that many fans were hoping to see, but they were rather let down when it wasn’t exactly what they wanted.
In the episode, Invincible was battling the villain Angstrom Levy, who saw the hero through various multiverse portals to try and eliminate him. The issue this story was based on was Issue #33. That issue is notable because we see Invincible get sent to the Marvel Universe and run into Spider-Man and Doc Ock. Invincible would return back through another portal, but we would see what happens in their meet-up in Marvel Team-Up #14, which featured the two...

Invincible Season 2 Episode 8 referred to one of the earliest jokes in the series, one concerning a certain archeologist with a beetle tattoo, who gets buried in the sand because Mark summons a sandstorm by flying too low.
This occurred way back in Episode 4 of Season 1. Episode 8 of Season 2 had Chloe Bennet (Quake from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D) play a companion to the daughter of this archeologist. Bennet’s character was called Riley, while the archeologist’s daughter, voiced by Ella Purnell (of Arcane fame), was called Jane.

Riley, Jane, Jane’s father, and Ka-Hor (the mummy that they resurrect ) are not a part of Invincible comics. These characters are original entries into the show and seem to be of no consequence as of now.

Actor Charlie Cox is popularly known for portraying Matt Murdock a.k.a., Daredevil in the series Daredevil for Netflix. Inspired by 1970s movies, the series was intended to be darker than other Marvel projects, intentionally avoiding any MCU crossovers. It was the first Marvel Netflix series and was followed by Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, which eventually led to the mini-series The Defenders.
Upon its release, the series received positive comments from the critics as well as the audience, with Charlie Cox’s character becoming one of the fan favorite MCU characters. In 2022, after Disney regained the license for the Marvel series, Daredevil Netflix was canceled to make way for a Disney+ show. Cox will reprise his role for Daredevil: Born Again scheduled for a 2025 release, but recent reports suggest that he could appear in Spider-Man 4 in a significant role.

Is Marvel Studios willing to put its dukes up again with Iron Fist? According to industry insider Daniel Richtman, the House of Ideas has a female-led Iron Fist series in the works for Disney+. Marvel Studios recently announced that the studio’s Netflix shows are canon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, paving the way for heroes like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist to mix it up with other characters in the MCU. While Iron Fist is brimming with potential, fans reacted poorly to Finn Jones’s portrayal of the classic Marvel character. The second season of Marvel’s Iron Fist concluded with Colleen Wing (Jessica Chenwick) picking up the torch as the new Iron Fist. Is Marvel plotting Colleen’s return to the MCU, or is this rumor only wishful thinking?
According to Richtman, there’s a chance Marvel could animate the rumored Iron Fist project. The...

Disney+’s upcoming Daredevil: Born Again may be getting even more familiar faces, as it has been reported that both Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll will reprise their respective characters from the original Daredevil series, Foggy Nelson and Karen Page.
Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll were key supporters throughout Daredevil’s three seasons when it aired on Netflix. That they’re expected to return – alongside Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock aka Daredevil – is most certainly reason for fans to be even more excited for Born Again. While it wasn’t anticipated that Henson and Woll would reprise their roles, they have stayed loyal to the characters: both turned up alongside Cox in The Defenders, while Henson would pop up as Foggy on Jessica Jones and Luke Cage and Woll had a short run on The Punisher TV series.

This post contains spoilers for Echo.
Not so long ago, a bright and insightful writer at the venerable pop culture site Den of Geek noted that the Kingpin of Crime Wilson Fisk could fill a gaping hole in the MCU. At the end of the fifth and final episode of Echo, that prediction looks even more sound.
Echo builds to a strange climax, in which Maya Lopez aka Echo gains indistinct superpowers and spreads them to her sister and grandmother to help them fight off Fisk and his men. But instead of punching Fisk into submission or shooting him in the face again, as she did at the end of Hawkeye, Maya performs something of a mind-meld on her adopted uncle.
The move forces him to relive his memories as a boy, listening to his father beat his mother. As Vincent D’Onofrio takes his giant baby approach to playing Fisk to its furthest extreme,...

Spoilers for "Echo" follow.
It wouldn't be a Marvel Studios production without a post-credits stinger. Wilson Fisk/The Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio) limps back home to New York City. As fate would have it, the jet's television is playing a new broadcast about the NYC mayor's race, with the subhead "No Clear Frontrunner."
Fisk turns up the volume and hears a panelist recounting polls that show most NYC voters' "ideal candidate [is] somebody who is a fighter." The host adds, "There are legitimate problems in the city right now — the voters want somebody who understands the pain they're going through," and the panelist replies, "A bare-knuckled brawler would do well in this race, an outsider, somebody who is not afraid to take on the establishment." However, as they lament, no such candidate has emerged and the race is in its last legs.
This commentary plays over a slow zoom-in on Fisk's face,...

While Nicolas Cage is loved by the internet for his many meme material, the actor is equally loved for his genuinely acclaimed acting performances. He has been in some of the most beloved movies of yesteryear, with films like The Rock, Face/Off, Con Air and the National Treasure movies. While Cage has been in movies of varying quality due to his need to pay off some of his notorious expenses, he has been able to maintain his artistic integrity by starring in movies like Pig and the recent Dream Scenario. He is set to be seen in the upcoming Longlegs, which just released a chilling teaser.
It was also those recent movies that had compelled Cage’s famous uncle, Francis Ford Coppola, to give his nephew a shoutout on his Instagram. Coppola posted a picture of Cage’s unrecognizable look as his Dream Scenario character and wrote in the post,...

Nicolas Cage comes from one of film’s most esteemed families. His uncle is Francis Ford Coppola (“The Godfather”) and his aunt is actress Talia Shire. Not wanting to appear like his career was the productive of nepotism, when he started acting he took the name Cage from one of his favorite comic book characters, Marvel’s Luke Cage.
Cage’s film career started off quite auspiciously with a small role in the popular comedy “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” when he was just 18 years old. He followed that up with a lead role in the cult classic “Valley Girl.” Both films interestingly dealt with the life of teenagers in the Los Angeles suburbs of the San Fernando Valley.
For his third film Cage would finally agree to work with his uncle when he appeared in Coppola’s “Rumble Fish,” followed the following year by Coppola’s “The Cotton Club.

Back in February, Steven Yeun was announced to be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a "key role" in "Thunderbolts." Now, thanks to Robert Kirkman, it's been confirmed what Yeun's role is: Robert Reynolds/The Sentry.
The Sentry is a relatively recent creation, debuting in 2000 and created by Paul Jenkins, Jae Lee, and Rick Veitch. He's one of the countless Superman clones across comics; he has the same powerset, the flowing cape and S-insignia, he gets his powers from the sun, and he even boasts the classic alliterative secret identity (think "Clark Kent").
However, Mr. Reynolds is not all good. Afflicted with a personality disorder since he got his powers, his archenemy -- the soul-devouring shadow "The Void" -- is Reynold's own alternate personality. Now that Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) is the Hulk full-time and Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) was seemingly crushed beneath Mount Wundagore, the Sentry easily slots...

Remember when Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage delivered Marvel stories with a gritty edge on Netflix?
Those were the days.
Disney+'s efforts have been watered down to appeal to a broader audience, but it seems the streaming service has got the message loud and clear with Echo.
The streaming service on Friday shared the official trailer and premiere date for its next live-action series, and it's TV-ma-rated for good measure.
The clip is violent, delivering fight scene after fight scene as we delve into the world of Maya Lopez, whose world is changed forever when she crosses paths with Vincent D'onofrio's Wilson Fisk.
As you'll recall, if you watched Hawkeye, Maya confronted Fisk in the limited series finale and took his eye out.
In the trailer, he tells Maya they're connected, whether she likes it or not.
"You and I… are the same," he tells her as things get going.

By 1998, it was a certainty that the studios had all but given up on superhero movies. After the financial flops that were Steel and Spawn, along with the sheer critical universal panning of Batman & Robin, the prospects for future superhero movies seemed dim. In the nineties it was very difficult for even a Batman movie to get off the ground, with properties like Superman, Iron Man, and Spider-Man stuck in a decade long development purgatory at their respective studios.
But in 1998, New Line Cinema took a shot on what was considered a somewhat “C” level superhero in the form of Blade. Within the Marvel Universe there exists a horror sub-universe where characters like Mephisto, Ghost Rider, Morbius, and Man-Thing roam, and Blade was considered one of their greatest foils and adversaries. Created by Gene Colan and Marv Wolfman, Blade was introduced in 1973 in “The Tomb of Dracula” #10. He was one...

Los Angeles, July 27 (Ians) The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s spy-thriller series ‘Secret Invasion’ has come to an end, the finale of the show is likely to set up the ‘Armor Wars’ storyline from the comics.
With its twist ending with regards to the War Machine, it could lead to a more faithful adaptation of the comic-book story of ‘Armor Wars’ story.
The original story of ‘Secret Invasion’ in the comics is vastly different from the one shown in the MCU, as the comic one is a crossover storyline that features many heroes such as Iron Man, Spiderman, Doctor Strange, Professor X, Wolverine, Luke Cage, Daredevil and many more teaming up to defeat the Skrull invasion after the Kree-Skrull war where the Skrull homeworld was in fact eaten by the planet eating god called Galactus.

There’s never been a better year to be a David Tennant fan – the man’s the very definition of “booked and busy”.
You could have been forgiven for thinking he’d had a pretty unbeatable year back in 2005, when (among other things) he starred in two of that year’s biggest TV and film successes, both beginning his tenure as the Tenth Doctor in Doctor Who and playing Barty Crouch Jr in Harry Potter and The Goblet Of Fire.
But almost 20 years later, Tennant’s demand has only continued growing, so much so that these days it’s almost easier to list the blockbuster shows and franchises that don’t involve David Tennant.
Add to that acting roles for Georgia Tennant, his wife, and three of their five children (so far!), and there’s a whole smorgasbord of Tennant talent on offer.

Let’s take a look at what...

John Romita Sr., the groundbreaking comic book artist who co-created some of the most influential characters in Marvel Comics history and drew some of the company’s most celebrated stories, died Tuesday, his son announced. He was 93.
Romita was already an established comics artist in the late 1960s when he took over as lead artist on “The Amazing Spider-Man,” but soon he established a unique, era-defining style for the character and helped create the title’s most enduring love interest, Mary Jane Watson. He would later co-create the mutant Wolverine, the criminal overlord Kingpin, and the vigilante antihero The Punisher, creations that would become staples of a billion dollar entertainment franchise, immortalized for generations of fans even if his name never became as widely known as his frequent collaborator, Stan Lee.
“I say this with a heavy heart, My father, John Romita passed away peacefully in his sleep this Monday morning.

This Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse article contains spoilers.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse eased us into the multiversal weirdness. After introducing Miles, we finally met Peter B. Parker, followed by Spider-Gwen. Soon, things went nuts with a noirish detective Spider-Man, an anime girl from the future, and a cartoon pig. Once all that was done, we got to see a futuristic Spider-Man 2099 interact with a badly animated version with an obsession with pointing.
But this year’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse goes absolutely crazy with Spider-Man variants. Some are throwaway designs for the movie, but there are also many who are deep cuts from Marvel Comics history. Here’s a guide to all the new arachnid heroes and heroines in Across the Spider-Verse:
Spider-Woman
Starting with the supporting cast, we have a take on Jessica Drew as Spider-Woman, a mainstay heroine in Marvel Comics who was an Avenger and Agent of both Shield and Sword.

You can’t suffer from superhero fatigue if you don’t watch the movies! Noted superhero fanatic Nicolas Cage said he doesn’t keep up with Marvel or DC movies, even suggesting that they are simply not for his demographic.
Speaking with Yahoo!, Nicolas Cage was asked how he felt about superhero fatigue, a buzz phrase that has swept the fanbase faster than a speeding bullet. “I mean, did I have my tray of lemon cookies and my bottle of NyQuil and lose my mind reading Stan Lee’s Marvel Comics at 12? Of course I did…But I’m not doing that anymore and I’m not really that up [on them].” Cage did backtrack slightly, saying, “I don’t have anything against superhero movies, but it’s not really what I’m consuming.”
Nicolas Cage previously hinted at a form of disinterest in superhero and comic book movies, citing the Marvel Cinematic Universe in particular.

“Hurt but not defeated.” That’s the direction filmmaker Martha Coolidge gave to her star Nicolas Cage as they shot the pivotal breakup scene in the ’80s classic “Valley Girl.” In a filmed conversation from 2003 between the two for the film’s twentieth anniversary, Cage told Coolidge that he has “used that direction ever since” in all of his work.
As the iconic ’80s spin on “Romeo and Juliet” celebrates its 40th anniversary on April 29, and Cage returns to the big screen with his latest film “Renfield” — in which he plays the centuries old Prince of Darkness himself, Count Dracula, recovering from the latest attempt on his life with his familiar Renfield (Nicholas Hoult) in New Orleans — it’s clear that the impact of her words still resonate in the performances of the idiosyncratic actor.
He was just 17 years old when he auditioned for the role that would change his life.

It’s no secret that Nicolas Cage is a massive comic-book fan, but when it comes to appearing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he’s not too bothered. Nicolas Cage recently accepted the Variety Legend & Groundbreaker Award at the Miami Film Festival Sunday night and he was asked if he’d ever want to be in the MCU.
Nicolas Cage merely said, “I don’t need to be in the MCU, I’m Nic Cage.” When asked for his opinion on the current state of superhero movies, Cage said, “I’ve gotta be nice about Marvel movies, because I named myself after a Stan Lee character named Luke Cage. What am I going to do, put Marvel movies down? Stan Lee is my surrealistic father. He named me. I understand what the frustration is. I get it. But I think there’s plenty of room for everybody. I’m seeing movies like ‘Tár.

Now, The Hollywood Reporter reports that Bernthal will reprise the role in Daredevil: Born Again.
Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio also star in the 18-episode series, reprising their roles from Netflix’s Daredevil.
The Independent has contacted Disney for comment.

Nicolas Cage has had a pretty remarkable resurgence over the past few years after having spent a long, long time making direct-to-video schlock. Between movies like "Pig" and "The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent," the Oscar-winning actor is very much in high demand once again, and he's even returning to studio filmmaking later this year as Dracula in "Renfield." But what about the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Is Cage ready to join the biggest franchise on the planet? Not really, it turns out. At the very least, he's by no means eager to do so. Why? Simply put, because he's Nic Cage.
Speaking recently with Variety in honor of Cage being awarded the Variety Legend & Groundbreaker Award at Miami Film Festival, the actor addressed the state of superhero movies today and avoided saying anything bad about Marvel Studios, even if he wouldn't exactly praise them either. Cage said:

After a couple of lean years, Berlin is ready to feast.
Its European Film Market kicks off on Thursday, Feb. 16 with hundreds of finished films and scores of new packages and projects for every cinematic taste and budget. Even as sellers are still setting up their stands at the EFM’s Martin Gropius Bau headquarters, new packages continue to come thick and fast.
Black Bear International, which helped close a deal with Lionsgate (for domestic) and Amazon (for multiple international territories) for Guy Ritchie’s World War II actioner The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare on the eve of Berlin, added the buzzy musical project Fred & Ginger, about Hollywood dance legends Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, played by Jamie Bell and Margaret Qualley, to its EFM slate. Black Bear will handle international sales of the project, previously at Amazon, with UTA Independent Film Group and 30West co-repping the U.S.

Charlie Walker, a San Francisco business owner and social justice icon who was portrayed by Mike Colter in the 2022 biopic I’m Charlie Walker, died Thursday in his hometown, it was announced. He was 89.
Colter, perhaps best known for his turns as Marvel hero Luke Cage, starred alongside Safiya Fredericks and Dylan Baker in the June release from Famm Films and Shout! Studios that was directed by Patrick Gilles.
The son of sharecropper parents, Walker became a successful trucker and in the 1960s led protests to open public construction jobs to Black contractors who were being deliberately snubbed.
He hired trucks that cleaned up San Francisco Bay after a devastating 1971 oil spill, helped good friend and then-Assembly member Willie Brown safely exit City Hall after the 1978 assassinations of Mayor George Moscone and Supervisor Harvey Milk and became one of the first Black employees at the San Francisco Chronicle.

Everyone has bad work days. Sometimes there’s just too much to do and not enough time to do it all; sometimes your coworkers can drive you up a wall; sometimes you have to land a commercial airliner somewhere in the Philippines because a lightning strike has rendered your plane flightless.
That last example is the plight of Trailblazer Airlines pilot Brodie Torrance, Gerard Butler’s character in the new action-thriller “Plane,” directed by Jean-François Richet (“The Emperor of Paris”). When his flight 199 goes down over the Sulu Sea, the grizzled captain teams up with an unlikely ally — the extradited murderer sitting at the back of his plane — to help his passengers and crew navigate a treacherous island. What follows is a ho-hum fight for survival peppered with carnage and, occasionally, pathos.

Considering the purely entertaining reads that are Quentin Tarantino’s first pair of books—his expansion of Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood and the recently released Cinema Speculation—it’s certainly fine by us for the director to take his time on announcing any plans for his 10th and final film. However, novel-writing isn’t the only thing keeping the filmmaker busy.
While at the last stop on his book tour for Cinema Speculation, at New York City’s Times Square venue The Town Hall, Tarantino revealed he has written an eight-part limited series he plans to shoot next year. While he was tight-lipped about sharing any more details (even cheekily shouting a “f*ck y’all” to a lively audience cheering for more information), he defiantly confirmed this new project would not count as his final film.

Three years have gone by since Millennium Media greenlit three more sequels in the Has Fallen franchise, but we’re still waiting for Night Has Fallen to make it into production. Thankfully, franchise star Gerard Butler has kept busy making action movies where he doesn’t play Mike Banning – movies like Greenland, Copshop, Last Seen Alive, and the upcoming Lionsgate release Plane. Plane is scheduled to reach theatres on January 27th, and a trailer has arrived online to start building the hype. Check it out in the embed above!
Directed by Jean-François Richet, whose previous credits include Blood Father and the Assault on Precinct 13 remake, Plane has the following synopsis:
Brodie Torrance saves his passengers from a lightning strike by making a risky landing on a war-torn island – only to find that surviving the landing was just the beginning. When most of the passengers are taken hostage by dangerous rebels,...

Netflix’s universe of Marvel TV shows started out strong with Daredevil in 2015. The Man Without Fear was soon joined by Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders, and The Punisher, but by 2019… all of those shows had been cancelled. But as we’ve seen, several of those characters have made the leap to the Marvel Cinematic Universe recently, and Finn Jones hopes that he’ll be able to return as Iron Fist one day.

While speaking with ComicBook.com, Finn Jones was asked whether or not he’d be down to return as Iron Fist, and the actor even has the perfect idea for the character’s potential reintroduction.
I would love to continue playing that character. I think there’s a lot of room for growth. Personally, where I would like to see the reintroduction of the character would be something...

Exclusive: Career Opportunities in Murder and Mayhem, the Hulu series in the works that stars Mandy Patinkin, has put the finishing touches on its already starry ensemble by adding Linda Emond (The Gilded Age) and Jayne Atkinson (House of Cards) in heavily recurring roles.
Emond will play Agent Hilde Eriksen, a shrewd, bureaucratic Interpol agent who comes on board the SS Varuna to investigate after a murder takes place. She’s repped by CAA. Atkinson will play Katherine Collier, the whip smart mother of Anna (Lauren Patten) and wife to the powerful tycoon Lawrence Collier (David Marshall Grant). She’s repped by Industry Entertainment.
The project written by Stumptown duo Mike Weiss and Heidi Cole McAdams and directed by Marc Webb asks the question how do you solve a murder in a post-fact world, especially when sailing the Mediterranean on an ocean liner filled with the wealthy and powerful? Everyone on board is hiding something,...
