There's been chatter for years about singer/songwriter Taylor Swift joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Yesterday evening, one scooper went so far as to claim she's had a "good meeting" with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige to discuss her joining the franchise.
Swift, who has become nothing short of a global phenomenon in recent years, is no stranger to acting and has even stepped behind the camera to direct. With that in mind - and the singer's immense popularity - it's no great shock that Marvel Studios is interested in working with her.
The question now is, who should she play? Many of the McU's biggest roles have already been cast and, given how successful Swift is as a writer and recording artist, we don't anticipate her signing any nine-picture movie deals!
In this feature, we explore some of the most exciting and realistic possibilities for Swift's MCU role. To check them out,...

It’s hard to explain Marvel’s Moon Knight on the best of days. The former mercenary-turned-vigilante can mostly be found after dark on the streets of New York City, protecting those who travel by night as the earthly avatar of the Egyptian moon god Khonshu. But the man behind the mask, Marc Spector, also has Dissociative Identity Disorder, which means that he can flip between alternate identities like that of ‘Steven Grant’ and ‘Jake Lockley’.
He’s a complex character who now has almost 50 years of comics under his belt. As a result, it can be a bit daunting if you’re looking for a way into his Marvel Comics history and aren’t sure where to start. Luckily, we’re here to help you as much as we can by isolating some of his best offerings to date!

Fresh on the Disney+ marquee is Marvel's "Moon Knight," the latest series to emerge from under the MCU tent. The (until now) mid-tier vigilante hero departs from his onscreen Marvel brethren in several ways, including a refreshing lack of zealous Easter eggs somehow connecting him to the Avengers. But what stands out the most about the series (based on the comics character created by writer Doug Moench and artist Don Perlin) is its singular weirdness, from star Oscar Isaac's goofy accent to the show's horror-adjacent wavelength in its study of a man-mercenary with dissociative identity disorder and a whole lot of repression. After all, who...

This article contains mild spoilers for Marvel’s Moon Knight
When it comes to throwing in Easter eggs to get people talking, there’s nothing easier for a superhero movie or show than quickly revealing a list of names. Whether it’s a list of mutant filenames on a computer screen in X-Men 2 or Bucky Barnes’ list of people to get closure from in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, it’s an easy way to throw out some references or even hint at future appearances. The first episode of Moon Knight is a little more blatant about its name dropping.
As Oscar Isaac’s Steven Grant starts to slowly uncover the truth about his rampant blackouts, he discovers a hidden compartment in his home. There, he sees a very dated Motorola Razr. There are a ton of missed calls, all coming from “Layla,” except one noticeably labeled “Duchamp.

Midway through the second episode of Disney+’s new Marvel series Moon Knight, mercenary Marc Spector has a heart-to-heart conversation with museum gift shop clerk Steven Grant. This is complicated by the fact that Marc and Steven are two different personalities — both played by Oscar Isaac — of the same man, created by the mental illness known as disassociative identity disorder. Marc lays out the whole Moon Knight premise to Steven, explaining that he serves as the avatar of the Egyptian moon god Khonshu, protecting the vulnerable and delivering justice on Khonshu’s behalf.

A new chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is beginning with the arrival of Moon Knight, a show (and indeed a superhero) unlike any other. The series is the first Marvel project to arrive on the small screen since the Jeremy Renner-starring Hawkeye bowed last December, and it certainly looks like it will be one to watch for MCU fans and newbies alike.
Moon Knight is only the first of many new Phase 4 releases planned for 2022. As nearly everyone on the internet has noted, the English accent Oscar Isaac adopts in the upcoming Disney+ series Moon Knight has no basis in the real universe. But you may be surprised to learn that it has no basis in the Marvel Comics universe, either. The choice to play Steven Grant, one of Moon Knight’s alter-egos, as a nervous Brit with an unusual accent came entirely from Isaac himself.
“It wasn’t necessarily written that way at all,” Isaac admits in an interview with Radio Times. But when the actor took the idea to Marvel boss Kevin Feige, he got an enthusiastic green light.
For comic fans, Isaac’s performance changes more than Steven Grant’s voice. One of four personalities vying for control in the mind of former mercenary Marc Spector, Steven Grant is a suave American millionaire in the mold of Bruce Wayne. In fact, up through the early 90s,...

The latest teaser for Marvel’s Moon Knight has plenty of exciting action shots and hints of mystery. We get to see Oscar Isaac playing both desert-bound mercenary Marc Spector and timid English shopkeeper Steven Grant, but you may have noticed that the show seems a little scarier than your average MCU offering!
Not only does Ethan Hawke’s cult leader Arthur Harrow give off creepy vibes, but the teaser is filled with jump scares. There’s even a menacing, skeletal creature sure to be the Egyptian god Khonshu, who resurrects Spector and makes him his earthly agent.
Really, the tone shouldn’t be too much of a surprise because Moon Knight has his roots in horror. The character first appeared in Werewolf by Night #32 (1975) as a bounty hunter sent to capture the lycanthropic Jack T. Russell. Writer Doug Moench, who co-created Moon Knight with artist Don Perlin, has a...

August of 2019 seems like a lifetime ago but it was then that audiences first heard that the new Disney+ streaming service would be home to a host of original television shows boasting their favorite Marvel characters. In front of an enthusiastic audience at the D23 Expo that year, alongside the likes of “WandaVision” and “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” it was announced that Disney+ would premiere “Moon Knight.”

Ordinarily, attributing authorship of superhero comic book characters (i.e. which writers and artists created them) is relatively simple. For example, the character of Marc Spector — the white-clad quasi-mystic vigilante Moon Knight — made his debut in 1975's "Werewolf by Night" #32 by writer Doug Moench and artist Don Perlin. However, the characters of Steven Grant and Jake Lockley weren't introduced until 1980's "Moon Knight" (Vol. 1) #1 by writer Doug Moench (again) and artist Bill Sienkiewicz, even though both characters are also Moon Knight. Get ready to meet the many, many sides of Marc Spector.
During the Super Bowl, Marvel Studios unveiled the second trailer for “Moon Knight,” the Oscar Isaac-starring limited series premiering March 30 on Disney Plus.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe series stars Isaac as Moon Knight, a character first created by Doug Moench and Don Perlin in 1975 for the comic series “Werewolf by Knight.” In most depictions of the character, Moon Knight is the secret identity of Marc Spector, a former CIA operative turned mercenary who dies during a job in Sudan but is revived and turned into the conduit of the Egyptian moon god Khonshu, becoming a Batman-esque vigilante. One of the character’s most notable traits is his dissociative identity disorder, which manifests in several distinct personas with defined personalities.

Oscar Isaac is in talks to play Marc Spector, the lead superhero on upcoming Disney Plus show “Moon Knight,” according to an individual with knowledge of the project.
Moon Knight is a fascinating character, because while on the surface he comes off like Marvel’s attempt to rip off Batman, his powers are actually magical, weird mystical abilities tied either to an ancient Egyptian god and the moon — or to his fractured psyche. More on that in a moment.
Created by writer Doug Moench and artist Don Perlin in 1975, Moon Knight debuted in Marvel’s “Werewolf by Night,” where he’s introduced hunting the title character before teaming up with him instead (the two have generally been allies ever since). Moon Knight’s story goes like this: his real name is Marc Spector, and he’s the Jewish son of a rabbi who fled to the United States from Czechoslovakia during World War II.

As I watched the latest trailer for the latest Vin Diesel-starring super-powered action-adventure, I began humming "Bette Davis Eyes" to myself. It's always a pleasure to see Guy Pierce on screen; he's certain to bring a measured humanity to his role as a scientist who brings dead people back to life so they can kill people for a shadowy agency. And Vin Diesel is (seriously) always a treat to watch as a mucho macho dude who begins to suspect something is amiss, especially when he says something like, "something's not right." The screenplay credits include both Eric Heisserer and Jeff Wadlow, so I'm positive they did everything they could, within their vivid, occasionally colliding imaginations, to translate the comic book by Bob Layton, Don Perlin,...

First introduced in Werewolf by Night No. 32 by writer Doug Moench and artist Don Perlin, Moon Knight began his Marvel Comics career as a villain turned ally to Werewolf by Night before becoming a hero in his own right in later issues. Though ...

Marvel Comics "Moon Knight" will star in a new 'Marvel Cinematic Umiverse' live-action TV series, as part of Marvel Studios 'Phase 4', streaming exclusively on Disney+ in 2020:
'Moon Knight' aka 'Marc Spector', was created by Doug Moench and Don Perlin, debuting in Marvel Comics "Werewolf by Night" #32 (August 1975).
"...born in Chicago, Illinois, 'Marc Spector' had been a heavyweight boxer before becoming a 'Us Marine' and a mercenary. While working for African mercenary 'Raoul Bushman' in Egypt, the group stumbles upon an archaeological dig whose crew includes 'Dr. Peter Alraune' and his daughter 'Marlene Alraune'.
"The dig had uncovered an ancient temple where artifacts included a statue of the Egyptian moon god 'Khonshu'. Intent on looting the dig, Bushman kills Dr. Alraune. In response to Alraune's murder, Spector challenges Bushman to personal combat and is defeated by Bushman and left to die in the sub-zero temperatures of the desert night.

Friday evening’s Disney+ panel at the D23 Expo was wild, with new shows and movies introduced left and right — including no fewer than three new Marvel shows, all of which will take place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But while “Ms. Marvel” and “She-Hulk” might grab the biggest attention from McU fans, the most immediately intriguing announcement, at least to us, was “Moon Knight.”
No disrespect to Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk as characters, of course — but they are logical choices to add to the McU. Moon Knight, on the other hand, is a super weird character and what his place might be in the greater McU isn’t clear at all. But this sort of oddball choice has worked out pretty well in the past for Marvel. Just look at Ant-Man, who was a similarly strange choice of headliner when his movie was announced years ago.

Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk and Moon Night are joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. At Disney’s D23 Expo annual confab, Marvel boss Kevin Feige announced that Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk and Moon Knight live-action series are in development at the upcoming streaming platform Disney+. All are derived from Marvel comics. The Ms. Marvel character, Marvel’s first Muslim superhero, also will be featured in movies, Feige said.
She Hulk was created Stan Lee and artist John Buscema and first appeared in the Feb. 1980 issue Savage She-Hulk #1. Known as Jennifer Walters, she’s a lawyer and the cousin of Bruce Banner and gets an emergency blood transfusion from him following an injury, thus acquiring Hulk-like qualities. She’s also a member of the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, Defenders and S.H.I.E.L.D.
Moon Knight aka Marc Spector is a former CIA agent who was almost killed by a terrorist named Bushman.

Moon Knight, the Fist of Khonshu, he of the awesome costume and annoying Batman comparisons, is getting a Disney+ series.
Worried that Marvel's lineup of Disney+ TV shows was too heavily focused on leaning on characters you already knew about from the McU movies? Well, fear not, true believer, because there's a Moon Knight TV series coming to Disney+. The Moon Knight TV series was first revealed by Kevin Feige at the D23 Expo. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Umbrella Academy TV series writer Jeremy Slater will serve as showrunner on the Disney+ Moon Knight show. Moon Knight was created by Doug Moench and Don Perlin and first appeared, appropriately enough, in the pages of Marvel's Werewolf by Night series in 1975.
Moon Knight is Marc Spector, a former mercenary and adventurer who becomes the avatar of the Egyptian moon god Khonshu after some archaeological misadventuring.

The charity Reach Out WorldWide will be streaming a game-based fundraiser and Vin Diesel's using his upcoming superhero movie to help out.
The late Paul Walker, known for his Fast and the Furious exploits, founded a charity called Reach Out WorldWide (Roww) in response to the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. Although Walker is no longer with us, Roww continues on with deploying relief in the wake of natural disasters. One of the ways they help raise funds is their annual Game4Paul livestream, where they have celebrities show up and play video games while raffling off some exclusive prizes.
This year is no different and not only will October 11 be the fourth installment of Game4Paul, but it also falls on what would have been his 45th birthday.
To get some eyes on the event, there’s a focus on fellow Furious friend Vin Diesel, who is...
