Science fiction is so prevalent in anime that Hollywood movies and TV series can only envy its diversity. Here you can find space opera, giant robots, cyberpunk, and even alternate history.
1. Space Pirate Captain Harlock, 1978-1979
An anime classic based on the manga by Leiji Matsumoto, a space opera about the pirate Harlock, who sails the galaxies on the starship Arcadia. The series is continued by another adaptation, Galaxy Express 999, which takes place in the same universe.
Despite the dated graphics, the anime is memorable for its romantic atmosphere, well-written world and vivid characters. And the main character, Captain Harlock, will make you fall in love with him from the first episode — he is a grim but noble loner, ready to die for his principles.
2. Planetes, 2003-2004
The characters of Planetes are space scavengers who clean the Earth's orbit from old satellites and their debris that can damage ships.

The First Family of Marvel Comics has company. With a summer start date in London, “Fantastic Four,” the essential comic book IP which has yet to be integrated into the MCU, has announced new cast members that will join Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm (later Sue Storm-Richards), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (the Ever-Lovin’ Blue-Eyed Thing).
Giving them cosmic grief will be Ralph Ineson as Galactus, the Devourer of Worlds. Ineson has a slew of solid smaller roles in film and television—from “Game of Thrones” to “Peaky Blinders” to “Chernobyl,” and has worked with Mike Leigh in “Another Year,” Steven Spielberg in “Ready Player One,” Joel and Ethan Coen in “The Ballad of Buster Scruggs,” and played the Death Eater Amycus Carrow in three “Harry Potter” films. He’s currently shooting Guillermo Del Toro’s “Frankenstein.”

How has it only been one year since Kate Drew died as of Nancy Drew Season 4 Episode 8?
The only explanation is that this is TV time. Sometimes that involves time jumps of months or years. And sometimes, a series that airs over years only spans a very short period of time for the characters involved.
But it felt jarring that after all Nancy and the Drew Crew have been through, it's all taken place in one year.
The Freaky Friday style twist of having the crew swap bodies was strangely amusing as I had to keep reminding myself who was in whose body.
That is except for Bess being in Nick's body. Tunji Kasim was phenomenal at making me believe Bess now inhabited Nick's body. The voice and mannerisms were spot-on and really funny.
But speaking of Nick, was turning down the town council seat the right move? Wouldn't it...

Fiona Apple has made a guest appearance on “komfortzone,” a new single from Nashville-based experimental/art-pop trio Flesh Eater.
With a sound that prioritizes ingenuity as much as melody, it’s no wonder Flesh Eater turn to Apple as a major source of information. Apple isn’t normally one to collaborate with artists outside of her usual circle, but thanks to a fortuitous mutual connection with film producer Zelda Hallman, she heard an early version of “komfortzone” and hopped in the studio to record her parts: backing vocals, piano, vibraphone, and cabasa.
“To me, ‘komfortzone’ represents confronting fear,” Flesh Eater vocalist/keyboardist Zwil Ar said in a statement. “The fear of being seen, of moving toward sharing what’s inside, meeting that where it is, seeing it, and saying, ok, this will be with me indefinitely; I’ve got to move past it.”
Ar continues: “Fear is natural, even healthy at times,...

This post contains spoilers for "John Wick: Chapter 4" and the later "Harry Potter" films.
In "John Wick: Chapter 4," John Wick (Keanu Reeves) must reunite with his estranged family in order to finally rid himself of the High Table and remove the sizable bounty on his head. When he visits his family, however, he has a rude reunion with Katia Jovanovich, Wick's long-lost adoptive sibling who is played by none other than actor Natalia Tena. Clad in leather and covered in prison ink tattoos, Jovanovich is a leader of the Ruska Roma assassins last seen in "John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum."
Tena is a veteran of several high-profile film franchises and blends into her new tough role so completely that it's a little hard to place her at first. She makes a lasting impression in the supposed final fourth chapter of the series, and she may even turn up...

This article contains spoilers for Record of Ragnarok seasons 1 and 2.
If there was a death match between humans and gods, who would triumph?
Think again before assuming immortals have the advantage. In Record of Ragnarok, which might be the most metal anime ever (down to screaming guitar riffs of the soundtrack), the most powerful humans who ever lived face off against the fiercest deities in Valhalla for humanity to have a chance at surviving another thousand years.
Humans can compete against the likes of Thor and Zeus because they get a power boost from the Valkyries. When the soul of a human and Valkyrie merge, it creates a Völundr—a Divine Weapon. The Völundr can make a mortal capable of godlike things that would otherwise be impossible to pull off. This doesn’t always mean victory. Apparently, the souls of the dead can die again, and even the divine can perish,...

There's nothing more annoying than going on a first date and having your dining partner for the night continually mock and belittle the things you are personally passionate about. It's almost as if they flat-out refuse to try and connect with you from across the table, which is the very thing they supposedly agreed to attempt when they decided to go out with you in the first place. In "The Menu," that situation is completely reversed. Anya Taylor-Joy plays the joyfully disenfranchised Margot (probably not her real name) whose disinterest in the finer things in life -- and, by association, her insufferable food-obsessed dinner date Tyler (Nicholas Hoult) -- makes her undeniably cool.
Tyler's efforts to impress Margot by taking her to a remote fine dining experience catered by the legendary Chef Slowik (Ralph Fiennes) are completely ignored, as is the delectable amuse-bouche they receive on the boat ride over to the exclusive Hawthorne restaurant.

This post contains spoilers for the first season of FX’s The Bear, now streaming in its entirety on Hulu.
The first time I attempted to watch The Bear, I made it about 10 minutes into the third episode before needing a break. The show, set in a busy Chicago sandwich shop, was doing almost too good a job at creating atmosphere. Watching the show felt like being stuck back in that kitchen with the cooks as equipment broke, tempers clashed, and no amount of time ever seemed enough to make...
