Jared Leto is taking Paris Fashion Week by storm while attending various shows this week. He sat front row at the Off-White Womenswear Fall/Winter 2023 show, where the new creative director designer Ib Kamara made his much-anticipated Paris debut on Thursday.
The “Walk on Water” singer attended the show wearing an all-white look featuring a long leather bomber jacket, a two-piece embellished suit, and bedazzled boots. The 51-year-old actor completed the look with black leather gloves and sunglasses. Fans are wondering whether Leto is using his time in Paris to browse for a new label after his long-time collaborator Alessandro Michele left Gucci.

Kanye West, aka Ye, is among many celebrities who’ve ventured into fashion. He expressed a strong interest in the industry early in his career. The fashionable rapper launched a clothing line in 2006, only to have it canceled four years later, but soon began working with designers such as Fendi and Louis Vuitton. West’s fashion career has seen ups and downs as it has evolved. He has designed everything from shoewear to silk scarves and received scrutiny and praise. One prominent fashion critic even compared West to the Olsen twins.
Kanye West’s fashion empire has taken a hit due to recent controversies
The rapper and fashion mogul had been raking in major cash. He once had an estimated net worth of $2 billion due partly to his Yeezy-Adidas deal. However, Kanye West’s net worth has plummeted to $400 million due to recent controversies. So, what happened?

Balenciaga is back in the news.
On the heels of a new report from New York Times fashion writer Vanessa Friedman — a piece that called it “make or break time” for the luxury brand ahead of a March 5 show in Paris, one she billed as “the single most fraught show of the season” or any season following a “spectacular fall from grace” late last year — Vogue published the first interview Balenciaga’s creative director Demna has done since the controversy exploded.
In it, he once again apologizes for two ad campaigns that were widely condemned for using props like lawsuit papers related to a child pornography case and the casting of children holding teddy bear handbags that looked to be bondage-inspired (Demna claims the designs were meant to reference “punk and DIY culture”), among other questionable items. He also details the house’s new protocols and explains how the situation...

Update: In his extended interview with Tucker Carlson, Kanye West criticized his ex-wife Kim Kardashian.
“Kim is Christian, but she has people who want her to go to Interview magazine and put her ass out,” West said. “She’s a 40-year-old woman with four black children. This is how fashion treats you.”
“There are so many things that are put into Kim’s head.” He said that influencers “have people around them all the time telling them what to be afraid of.”
He also addressed criticism from Vogue contributing editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson and Gigi Hadid, the latter of whom called him “a bully and a joke.” West said that they were part of “group mob,” which he described as “liberal Nazis that will go up and attack you,” and that had Anna Wintour’s approval.

Designer Jeremy Scott is now a puppet master.
Instead of a live fashion show for his Moschino spring/summer 2021 collection, Scott teamed up with Jim Henson’s Creature Shop for a film showcasing 40 new looks using 30-inch marionettes.
Produced by Alex Winter, the seven-minute short, “No Strings Attached,” features a full runway show that even includes a front row of marionettes of the fashion journalism elite, including Anna Wintour (Vogue), Nina Garcia (Elle), Edward Enninful (British Vogue), Angelica Cheung (Vogue China) and Vanessa Friedman (The New York Times).
“I tried to look at all of this as opportunities, not obstacles,” Scott told Variety ahead of the film’s Times Square premiere on Saturday morning. “My mantra has been from the very beginning, ‘My body may be in quarantine, but my mind isn’t.’ I’m a creative person who is extremely used to lots of people, travel, all these different...

Prince’s spirit continued to preside over pop life at the Grammys with some help from Usher and Fka Twigs on Sunday night. However, not everyone was feeling the R&b legend and avant-pop maven after they hit the stage to perform a medley of Prince classics.
Plenty of online commentators were enthused — though many were puzzled why Fka Twigs didn’t get a mic or an opportunity to sing during the performance, reduced as she was to a slinky dancer.
“Imagine making the decision to not let Fka Twigs sing anything at all,” @robsheff tweeted.
Taking the stage in a sparkling blue-green suit, Usher gave the crowd some hip-shaking, old-school showmanship inspired by the Purple One on “Little Red Corvette.” Fka Twigs took the stage during “When Doves Cry,” performing an elegant pole dance during the sultry synths of doves crying during the breakdown.
Still, her silent contribution left some skeptical.

Ralph Lauren, the fashion designer synonymous with American sportswear, will be profiled in an upcoming HBO documentary titled “Very Ralph.” The feature-length doc — airing November 12 — is being touted as the first documentary portrait of the 79-year-old Lauren, who founded his eponymous fashion brand in 1967.
A synopsis for the documentary reads:
“With an uncanny ability to turn his dreams into reality, Ralph Lauren has built a multi-billion-dollar, global powerhouse out of his aspirations, becoming a living embodiment of American optimism and the American Dream. For more than 50 years, he has celebrated the iconography of America and defined American style, translating his vision and inspiration into one of the world’s most widely recognized brands. In ‘Very Ralph,’ as he enters his sixth decade in business, Lauren reflects on his journey from a boy from the Bronx who didn’t know what a fashion designer was, to becoming the emblem of American style all around the world.

Georgina Chapman broke her silence on ex-husband Harvey Weinstein earlier this week, denying any and all knowledge of the behavior he’s accused of and saying she “had what I thought was a very happy marriage.” Anna Wintour wrote a defense of Chapman yesterday, calling it “wrong” to blame her for Weinstein’s alleged sexual misconduct. It appears that several of his accusers are inclined to agree.
Among them is TV reporter Lauren Sivan, who claims that Weinstein cornered her in a restaurant and forced her to watch as he masturbated into a plant. “The argument that she knew and married for money and was with him to get her fashion line, I don’t care why she married him — that has nothing to do with me,” she told the Hollywood Reporter. “Whatever agreement those two had has no effect on me whatsoever. What I care about is when this became published,...
