Roopal is an Indian screenwriter who is passionate about creating young adult and women centric content across formats and is best known for her work on the supernatural Netflix Original series Tooth Pari produced by Endemol, starring Tanya Maniktala and Shantanu Maheshwari. She studied film direction at the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad. Her documentary film Udaan, about professional women drivers in Ahmedabad, was selected at the Indian Documentary Producers Association (IDPA) festival in 2007. Roopal has also written for numerous successfully running shows on Channel V, EPIC, and Sony Entertainment Television among others. Her debut children's fiction novel 'The Little Rainmaker' was published by Penguin Random India and has been shortlisted among the TOP 20 in the world in Times Chicken House Children's Fiction competition, London, 2016. The screenplay for the novel is currently under development. Roopal's feature screenplay Tigadi has also been shortlisted for NFDC's Screenwriters Lab. Her second feature film script was pre-selected for the Hubert Bals Development Fund. Until recently, Roopal headed content development at Kool Kanya, a digital technology platform dedicated towards helping women navigate their careers. She is currently working on an unscripted series for a leading Indian platform and is simultaneously developing an original short film and feature idea of her own.
