The preshow, hosted by Saweetie with Nessa, Dometi Pongo and Kevan Kenney, is being aired live on MTV, MTV2, CMT and Logo from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Pt. It is also being streamed live on MTV’s YouTube channel. Performers also include Nle Choppa and Sabrina Carpenter.
Saweetie returns to the awards show after winning the VMA for best art direction with Doja Cat in 2021, and is also a three-time nominee.

MTV has announced the first round of presenters who will take the stage at the 2023 Video Music Awards, taking place on Tuesday, September 12. Pop star Bebe Rexha; social media figures Charli D’Amelio and Dixie D’Amelio; R&b singer Coco Jones; model and actress Emily Ratajkowski; rappers French Montana, GloRilla and Ice Spice; Oscar-winning actor and musician Jared Leto; actress Madelyn Cline; British singer Rita Ora; and singer-actress Sabrina Carpenter will be present at the 40th annual event.
