Gambling School, also known as Kakegurui is a manga series written by Homura Kawamoto and drawn by Tōru Naomura. The story takes place in a prestigious academy attended by wealthy students who have adopted their own hierarchy based on their gambling skills. The manga has been published since March 2014, and there is also an anime adaptation that currently has two seasons (24 episodes), as well as a prequel manga. Kakegurui is one of the more popular series outside the mainstream works, and it seems that the popularity of the series inspired Netflix to produce a live-action series based on the Kakegurui manga and anime. The series will be titled BET and it has been officially announced recently!
To make it clear, BET won’t be a direct live-action adaptation of Kakegurui, so it is not like Cowboy Bebop or One Piece; instead, it will be a standalone live-action series that is...

If you’re new to the world of Homura Kawamoto’s manga and the films and Netflix series it has inspired, you may need a moment to adjust to your surroundings. Welcome to Hyakkaoh Academy, Japan’s number one elite school for gamblers. Here, everything depends on luck and the ability to outwit the competition. Those who are successful become legends. Those who lose are forced to wear pet tags and perform servile duties for their betters in a system resembling the practice of fagging in English public schools. There is only the briefest of introductions, and nothing in the way of justification, provided at the start of this film, which expects viewers to be familiar with the setting already. It wastes no time in getting on with the action as student president Kirari (Elaiza Ikeda) and brilliant outsider Yumeko (Minami Hamabe) are faced with a new threat: the scheming,...

Netflix is going all in on anime as they add the eagerly anticipated Godzilla movie and 12 other projects to their slate of upcoming programming. Deadline says in addition to the series the network is also overseeing the development of Cannon Busters, Devilman Crybaby, B: The Beginning, and Knights Of The Zodiac: Saint Seiya just to name a few.

Time will tell, but the addition of so many projects seems promising for the future of anime on the platform.
