Mazik

A musician turned filmmaker, Mazik has a rich history of involvement been engrossed in almost every facet of the entertainment industry. Born in Los Angeles, Mazik spent the first seven years of his life in Santa Monica until his mother moved them to Las Vegas in 1979. The community he spent most of his formative years inspired his style in music and culture. While in Vegas, Mazik witnessed an influx of New York hip-hop on the radio waves. As a young break dancer, Mazik snuck into clubs where east coast jockeys, such as DJ Franky hosted competitions. After being expelled from the school district for stealing arts supplies, Mazik moved in with his Grandmother back in Los Angeles. Now he found himself in a practically all-Jewish neighborhood, missing the culture he had associated with for years. His longing for the music that he now loved and preached brought him to shows throughout the city and helped him make connections with like minded artists deeply entrenched in the LA scene. Soon, Mazik met Ben Mor and the two of them formed the hip-hop duo Blood of Abraham. The duo were quickly met with success and signed with Ruthless Records. Blood of Abraham toured worldwide playing with hundreds artists crossing all genres, opening for everyone from Public Enemy to Weezer. While signed to Ruthless, Mazik lived with his mentor, Eazy-E and after he passed away, Blood of Abraham decided to dispatch. Mazik went on to compose music for companies such as Nike, Sprint, and Ikea as well as help write and produce tracks for The Black Eyed Peas and Prodigy. His friendship with Will.i.am grew while Mazik expanded his artistic journey into film. After directing several music videos and commercials, Mazik earned an Emmy nomination for a CBS daytime television show as a segment director. A$ap Rocky pulled Mazik back into the music world hiring him to be his creative director. Currently, Mazik is the Creative Director solely for will.i.am, iam+ (will.i.am's tech company) and The Black Eyed Peas.

Opus Magnus Pictures is Mazik's new venture and is currently in development on a scripted and doc series, both revolve around his rich knowledge of the music world.
