Shoryu Nan(1912-2001)
Sung-Yong Nam was born on November 23, 1912 in Suncheon, Korea. He received education in Japan. Moreover, he represented Japan in the 1936 Olympics held in Berlin where he won the bronze in the men's marathon w/ a final standing of 2 hours 31 minutes 42 seconds. In the wake of his Olympic triumph, he went on to work for the Korean Sporting Association. He died at 88 on February 20, 2001 in Seoul.
