One of the stars of School Spirits revealed when they think the cast and crew will return to work for Season 2 of the Paramount+ original series.
The finale of Season 1, starring Peyton List and Kristian Ventura, aired on April 12, 2023. Two months later, the project was officially renewed for Season 2.
The industry then went through two monumental strikes that brought everything to a halt for most of the year. One of the many consequences is that fans now have no idea when they can expect new episodes of School Spirits.

She claims she’s been busy working on her portfolio and, of course, she doesn’t mention being out in the woods all alone with a shovel after the homecoming dance.
Simon’s also a little distracted and is wearing mismatched socks for his interview with Northwestern. He’s hoping the Northwestern alum will understand that he’s been thinking about his best friend being murdered. Simon admits he doesn’t think it makes any sense that the janitor killed her. Although Paramount+’s School Spirits episode five ended with Maddie and Simon discovering a secret way out of the basement, episode six begins with a heated discussion about jocks. Simon (Kristian Flores) can’t believe Maddie (Peyton List) said yes to going to the homecoming dance with Wally. If Maddie was still alive, she wouldn’t be caught dead on a date with a football player.
Maddie, understandably, wants to steer the conversation back to her murder.
All this is going on as Claire (Rainbow Wedell) and her minions are gossiping about Xavier over lunch. Her girls don’t know that she and Xavier were hooking up, and Claire seems to be paving the way for a public display of affection by responding to his text. She shocks Xavier (Spencer Macpherson) by agreeing to go with him to homecoming.

Many TV shows with a mystery spread across an entire season struggle to find the right pace between characterization and answering questions necessary to advance the plot.
At its core, School Spirits Season 1 Episode 5 was filled with mystery, characterization, and, more importantly, heart.
Maddie's predicament is unique because we're watching her spirit come to terms with the world she's leaving behind while simultaneously trying to uncover who was responsible for her death.
It's a harrowing thought, but despite its name, School Spirits is telling meaningful stories grounded in reality.
Maddie's realization that she needs to help her mother have closure came out of the left field, but it was widely governed by her watching Wally with his mother almost 40 years after his death.
The dynamic between Maddie and Wally has been interesting because their bond has been a slow burn.
They're slowly gravitating toward one another, and while I'm unsure...

In "School Spirits," Kristian Flores plays Simon Elroy, a high school student struggling to come to terms with the unexplained death of his best friend, Maddie (Peyton List). For Flores, whose masterful and nuanced performance is one of the show's highlights, the role was an opportunity to use some of the past challenges that have peppered his life to add layers to his character.
"School Spirits" finds Maddie just as she discovers that she's a ghost who's trapped in high school forever. But the show isn't merely a teen dramedy or an exploration of the paranormal - it's also a layered tale about trauma, friendship, and love that transcends life. In her afterlife, Maddie worries about her alcoholic mother, whom she had to take care of extensively while she was alive, while Simon worries that he'll never see his friend again. The show's complex themes were a big draw for Flores.

Maddie (Peyton List) is desperate to find out why Mr. Anderson has cash stuffed in his wall, and why he believes he gave her some, as Paramount+’s School Spirits episode four opens. Class is underway as Maddie tries to figure out how to get into his phone. Remember, School Spirits‘ ghost rules allow the dead to manipulate items without the living realizing they’ve been moved. Mr. Anderson has no idea Maddie’s got his phone and is trying out passwords.
She begs Simon (Kristian Flores) to tell Mr. Anderson (Patrick Gilmore) to check his email. But Simon knows that would look weird and doesn’t comply. Instead, he seizes the opportunity as the bell rings to grab Mr. Anderson’s phone without being seen and races from the classroom.

In "School Spirits," protagonist Maddie (Peyton List) wakes up one day to discover she's a ghost - and, possibly even more disconcertingly, she's trapped in her high school forever. In the show, which premieres on Paramount+ on March 9, ghosts are everywhere, they can see everything, and unfortunately, they also can't leave the place where they died.
Despite playing a ghost on screen, List herself actually doesn't like to entertain the idea that ghosts might be walking among us. "I feel like the mind is so powerful. I prefer to say no," the 24-year-old star tells Popsugar. "I don't let any of that in, because I think the mind can just run and create a reality. I'm going to try to keep telling myself no . . . even though weird things keep happening to me and to people around me."

Chances are good that, if you know me in the real world, you’ve heard me repeat/paraphrase/mangle the Samuel Johnson quote, “[W]hen a man is tired of London, he is tired of life.” I believe that deeply.
Allow me to mangle/paraphrase the quote further, because while Johnson never said, “[W]hen a man is tired of ghosts, he is tired of the afterlife,” I’m beginning to believe that I am, indeed, suffering from ghost fatigue. Which is not, in fact, a less appreciated Mission: Impossible sequel.
The show with the poor fortune to trigger this growing apparition-apathy is Paramount+’s middling boo-dunnit School Spirits. But it could just as easily have been ABC’s middling comedy Not Dead Yet or a mini-marathon of CBS’ Ghosts or lingering memories of last summer’s instantly forgotten (but actually better than middling) Netflix series Boo, Bitch. School Spirits is coming to Paramount+ on Thursday, March 9.
It follows the story of Maddie, a high school student who goes missing from the school.
Maddie may be missing, but her spirit remains, and she discovers there's a thriving afterlife associated with the school of all of those who died within it.
The series has a wonderful, talented cast and is bursting with emotion. The underlying mystery of what happened to Maddie provides a solid throughline for getting to know more about the school and its permanent (?) inhabitants.
We participated in press day to get a little insight into the show, but it's more of a tease. After all, we don't want to take away the joy of discovering the School Spirits' mysteries on your own!
Up first is a discussion with co-creators, executive producers, and siblings Nate Trinrud and Megan Trinrud, as well as showrunner and executive producer Oliver Goldstick.

School is difficult enough, but it's about to be more difficult for a teenager named Maddie (played by Peyton List), tasked with solving her murder.
Paramount+ dropped the official teaser for School Spirits this week, and it looks set to be one of the most talked-about shows of the year so far.
The trailer introduces us to Maddie, a teenager who finds herself dead, and her spirit is stuck at school.
Maddie has no idea how she died, but she can see the reactions from the other students in the school as she tries to comprehend how she got stuck there.
The minute she tries to step foot off the school grounds, she's taken back to the crime scene.
It's a compelling hook for a teen drama, and the official trailer makes it seem like this one is worth watching.

However, do you think that the latter group would still consider that time in their lives the glory days if they had to spend eternity there? The new young adult drama from Awesomeness Live-Action Studios titled "School Spirits" explores...

During its presentation at the Television Critics Association’s 2023 winter press tour, Paramount+ debuted new teaser art for the third and final season of “Star Trek: Picard,” which premieres on Feb. 16. During the panel about the series however, the team behind the series didn’t seem so sure that this would be the end.
“Who knows?” executive producer Alex Kurtzman said when asked about the ending of the series, with star Patrick Stewart saying that if the show could “maintain the work quality” of the first three seasons, he would be open to reappearing. He also noted that the storylines of the final season intentionally “leave doors open.”
The series stars Stewart as Jean-Luc Picard, who he played for seven seasons of “Star Trek: The Next Generation.” LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Jonathan Frakes, Gates McFadden, Marina Sirtis, Brent Spiner, Jeri Ryan and Michelle Hurd also star.
