Maggie's been fighting her feelings for a new guy since her divorce.
Will a horrible accident leave her heartbroken before she can make her next move?
Chicago Med Season 9 Episode 10 spoilers suggest a medical crisis could cause her to regret all the time she's wasted being unready to date again after her divorce.
Maggie's been unlucky in life and love for a while.
After meeting Ben during a mutual chemotherapy session, the two lost custody of the foster son they were about to adopt to his biological family, and the new baby they thought they were welcoming to the world instead turned out to be the return of her cancer.
With all that drama, it's no wonder she and Ben had marital problems. I will always hate their split for the sake of drama, but it's understandable considering all the stress they were under throughout their marriage.

It's great to have Chicago Med back, but Marcel's conflict with Washington was a lot of nothing.
On Chicago Med Season 9 Episode 7, Marcel accused Goodwin of siding with her boyfriend instead of with medical science. Then, everything changed for the patient, and the conflict evaporated.
Will this rear its ugly head some other time? It moved so quickly that it felt pointless despite some great performances.
Marcel and Washington's argument was a classic medical drama trope. TV hospitals are full of medical personnel who think surgery is too risky and surgeons who think the patient's prognosis will be poor if they don't go under the knife right away.
In this case, it was complicated by Sharon's relationship with Dr. Washington, which made Marcel believe she was not being objective in her decision about who to listen to.
Washington's plan initially made a lot of sense. If radiation could shrink the tumor,...

Juno Temple confirmed to Variety On the Carpet presented by Directv while at the 2024 SAG Awards that “Venom 3” is finally nearing the end of filming. The “Ted Lasso” star is one of the new additions to the “Venom” franchise alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor and Clark Backo in the upcoming third movie, which is being directed by Kelly Marcel and features a story that leading man Tom Hardy co-created.
“We’re coming close to an end at the moment,” Temple said. “It’s been a wild, wonderful ride. It’s so new to me. It’s a big set! This is crazy. It’s been so much fun and I got to work with such cool people. I’ve been so lucky in my career to just have the most incredible casts. I can’t wait for it to get out into the world. I think it’s going to be a good one.

Clark Backo, best known for “The Changeling” and “Letterkenny,” has joined the cast of Sony and Marvel’s “Venom 3.”
The Tom Hardy-starring threequel, which is set to hit theaters on Nov. 8, also features Juno Temple and Chiwetel Ejiofor in undisclosed roles. Similarly, character details for Backo are being kept under wraps.
Kelly Marcel helms the antihero movie in her feature directorial debut, and wrote the screenplay from a story she developed with Hardy. The duo, who also developed the first two “Venom” installments, return to produce the film alongside Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal and Hutch Parker.
Reps for Sony and Backo did not immediately respond to request for comment on her casting.
Backo most recently starred opposite Lakeith Stanfield on Apple TV+ limited series “The Changeling,” paying Emma, wife to Stanfield’s Apollo and a new mom who is suffering emotionally and vanishes without a trace.

A third film in the Marvel Comics-inspired Venom franchise started filming back in June, and at that time Sony Pictures was aiming to get Venom 3 into theatres sometime in October of 2024. Production had to come to a halt when the Screen Actors Guild went on strike in July – but Sony was obviously confident that the strike was going to be wrapped up quickly when they announced that same month that they had moved Venom 3 up to a July release. But the strike only came to an end last night, and as Venom 3 gears up to head back into production, Deadline reports that Sony now has it scheduled to reach theatres on November 8, 2024.
November 8, 2024 is a date Sony always had reserved for one of their Marvel-inspired properties… they just didn’t expect Venom 3 to be the film that would land on that date.

Kelly Marcel, who wrote and produced the first two ‘Venom’ movies, directs the upcoming superhero film from a screenplay she wrote, reports Variety.
Marcel and Hardy developed the story of ‘Venom 3’ and produced alongside Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal and Hutch Parker.

The highly anticipated third installment in the Venom superhero franchise will no longer be hitting the big screen next summer.
The untitled Sony and Marvel film was initially set to be released in theaters July 12, 2024, but has been pushed back to Nov. 8, 2024, Sony announced Wednesday night.
The shift came just hours after SAG-AFTRA and studios and streamers reached a tentative deal over a new three-year contract following the 118-day actors strike.
Production had begun on the Venom sequel in late June in Spain, but it was among films that were halted the following month due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, which started July 14. Pushing the release date to November and giving the film more time to finish shooting and complete postproduction work provides a certain amount of cushion. Also, Sony has secured a berth in Imax and premium-format screens.
In the third installment of the series, Tom Hardy returns as the lethal protector Venom.

November 8, 2024 belongs to Venom 3. Sony always had the date on hold for a Marvel movie. It was for this film. The movie previously had a July 14, 2024 date set. That wasn’t in the cards as this actors strike hit 118 days with studios and SAG-AFTRA reaching a new three-year deal tonight.

Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock/Venom is crashing the summer movie season for the first time as Sony Pictures has set a July 12, 2024, release date for its third “Venom” movie. The film is untitled at this time. Hardy’s previous two comic book tentpoles, 2018’s “Venom” and 2021’s “Venom: Let There Be Carnage,” both opened at the start of October. If I had asked you to name a film from the early 1990s that featured groundbreaking visuals effects that changed the landscape of cinema, you probably answer with Jurassic Park. But what if I told you that instead of dinosaurs, an earlier pioneer in visual effects was a satirical black comedy involving Meryl Streep, Goldie Hawn, and a magic potion? Yep, that’s right. That film does indeed exist and is none other than Death Becomes Her. Directed by the legendary Robert Zemeckis and co-written by David Koepp and Martin Donovan. The idea came to Koepp back when he was working on another film, which featured a story about a man’s attempts to kills his wife, who turns out to be a witch and cannot die. And of course, the witch has an axe to grind now that she knows her husband tried to off her. That idea later developed into Death Becomes Her.

However, after reconnecting with her childhood friend Hae Sung (Teo Yoo) online, Nora finds herself in a complicated love triangle when Hae Sung suddenly leaves South Korea to visit her in person. "Childhood sweethearts who reconnect 20 years later and realize they were meant for each other. In the story, I would be the evil white American husband standing in the way of destiny," Arthur says in the film's trailer. Once Nora and Hae Sung reunite, the pair discuss their past and wonder what would have happened if Nora had never left South Korea. "Would we have dated? Broken up? Gotten married?" Hae Sung tells Nora. "Would we have had kids together?"

A third film in the Marvel Comics-inspired Venom franchise is heading into production – and Variety has heard that Sony Pictures is aiming to get Venom 3 into theatres sometime in October of 2024. The Fridays in that month fall on the 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th… but regardless of which one Sony picks, we’ll be getting a new adventure of the brain-eating alien symbiote antihero just in time for Halloween.
Tom Hardy is reprising the role of Eddie Brock / Venom for the sequel, and is being joined in the cast by Juno Temple (Ted Lasso) and Chiwetel Ejiofor (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness). Since the Venom films are set in a different universe than the Marvel Cinematic Universe films, we shouldn’t expect to see Ejiofor play his Doctor Strange character Baron Mordo in Venom 3.

Tom Hardy will be back as Venom in Sony’s upcoming Venom 3, but when can you expect to see Eddie Brock and his symbiotic Bff back up on the big screen?
According to a new report from Variety, Venom 3 is shooting for an October 2024 release!
This checks out, as both Venom (2018) and Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021) were unleashed into theaters in October. That seems to be the sweet spot for this franchise.
Shooting on Venom 3 is expected to begin very soon, but we don’t yet know at this time how the ongoing WGA strike will impact those plans. Stay tuned for more as we learn it.
Chiwetel Ejiofor (Doctor Strange) and Juno Temple (“Ted Lasso”) will star.
Venom and Venom 2 writer Kelly Marcel will be directing the third movie.

Google was in the news for all the wrong reasons last week, despite not bearing much (if any) responsibility for the trouble. The issue began when streaming devices using Android TV code and manufactured in China were found to be sold preloaded with malware that could be used to launch cyber attacks.
Device manufacturers AllWinner and RockChip were the two companies whose devices were demonstrably infected, but there may be others as well. These corrupted devices are not powered by the official Android TV operating system, which is licensed by Google. But thanks to the Android Open Source Project, the makers of these streaming players can build an interface using some Android TV code, and create unlicensed versions of Google apps and the Play Store so that customers think they are getting the real deal.

Most Friends fans remember the chicken and the duck. Most fans also remember Marcel, Ross Geller’s capuchin. The three exotic pets were not the only animals featured on Friends, though. Over the years, a smattering of dogs, cats, and even rats were mentioned on the famed sitcom that largely took place in Monica and Rachel’s apartment. We’ve collected all of the pets the famed characters owned over the years.

In season 1 of Friends, Ross Geller adopts a capuchin he named Marcel after his friend rescues the animal from a lab. When Ross brought him home, Marcel was young, and he was often seen hanging out on Ross’ shoulder, despite being illegal to keep in New York City.
Marcel appeared in several episodes during season 1 before he became aggressive.

Being brave and daring — both things this movie has been praised as — is usually associated with seizing something long kept out of reach, or disregarding moral customs. However, Elena Martín Gimeno's sophomore tour de force of the pure id, shows us that owning up to our sensitivities and being affectionate can be the bravest and the most uncomfortable thing you can do. Creatura (2023) premiered at the Cannes 2023 Directors’ Fortnight selection, walking away with the Europa Cinemas Label prize for best European film.
The film begins with Mila (played by the director herself) and Marcel (Oriol Pla), a couple in their thirties, moving into Mila's family home in the coastal area of Catalonia, which had been abandoned for some time. Although things seem to be going well for them, an underlying sense of uneasiness is palpable. Mila experiences unsatisfied sexual urges, while Marcel remains uncomfortably distant,...

There’s an unnerving veil hanging over the windswept beaches and quaint rural milieus that make up “Creatura,” a brave and remarkably self-assured personal excavation film. Hailing from Catalan filmmaker and actress Elena Martín Gimeno, whose performance as the central figure Mila is both reassuring and vulnerable, “Creatura” follows one woman’s relationship to her body, desire, and sexuality, beginning with adulthood and eventually leading to her earliest childhood memories. The film observes an erratic adult Mila as she drifts through a series of adolescent memories. As various chapters from youthful summers unfurl like dreams, she attempts to heal her relationship with her body. Elegantly crafted and brazen in perspective, the film was awarded Best European Film at the 2023 Cannes Directors’ Fortnight.
It’s provocative, yes, but not overly titillating. Gimeno’s film is honest about the way girls are alienated from their own desires at every stage of development.

“Creatura,” the feature debut of Elena Martín, exploring female sexual desire and repression, has won this year’s 20th Europa Cinemas Cannes Label for best European Film at the 2022 Cannes Directors’ Fortnight.
Announced Thursday by Europa Cinemas, ahead of the closing ceremony this afternoon, the prize is one of two at Directors’ Fortnight, and awarded by one of the sidebar’s partners, given the section is non-competitive.
A second partner plaudit, the Sacd Prize, handed out by France’s Writers’ Guild, will be announced simultaneously to the Europa Cinemas Label.
“Creature” hit Cannes will multiple tailwinds. Like last year’s Berlin Golden Bear winner “Alcarràs,” it’s made by an emerging woman director associated by the so-called Catalan New Wave of helmers and producers making films twinning a strong sense of place and universal issues.

The prizes were announced ahead of the evening closing ceremony for the non-competitive parallel Directors Fortnight section.
The Europa Cinema label and Sacd prizes are the key collateral prizes awarded to films world premiering in the section.
Under the Europa Cinema prize, the release of Creatura will receive the support of cinemas belonging to the independent exhibitor network representing 3,060 screens in 38 countries. The jury consists of four exhibitor members of the network.

It might take me all summer to come to terms with this one.
Will Halstead has always been the heart of Chicago Med. Other characters have come and gone, but he was the one constant we could count on.
This isn't the end of the series, but Chicago Med Season 8 Episode 22 certainly felt like the end of an era when Will walked out those doors for the final time -- and ended up in Seattle with Natalie.
Will's last act was to work with Grace to screw up Or 2.0 completely. I'm unhappy about that, though I'm even less pleased to lose Will.
Marcel was right that the tech had been helpful in many ways and that eradicating its credibility wasn't the way to go. Marcel was the one person Jack trusted -- he could have gotten Jack to sideline the project after the IPO and put Grace to work on fixing the glitches.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the Chicago Med Season 8 finale “Does One Door Close and Another One Open?”] The promo for the Chicago Med Season 8 finale teased “someone will go,” but how? Does Maggie (Marlyne Barrett) take a new job after meeting with a recruiter? Does Dean (Steven Weber) die before he can get the kidney he needs, from his son Sean (Luigi Sottile)? Does someone else decide it’s time to leave the hospital, because of the recent changes or another reason? The finale foreshadows all of these possibilities. Just as Dayton (Sasha Roiz) is ready to show off what the new Or can do with his own hernia repair, Will (Nick Gehlfuss) and Grace (TV Carpio) discover the system created a lesion as a misguided attempt to help him with a patient who died. Dayton tries to brush off Marcel’s (Dominic Rains) concerns at first, then tells him he trusts him (and doesn...

Justice League cinematographer Fabian Wagner is on board to shoot Venom 3, a new installment in Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters, which begins filming next month in the U.K.
In addition to Justice League/Zack Synder’s Justice League, Wagner’s credits include Game of Thrones, for which he was Emmy nominated and won an American Society of Cinematographers Award for the acclaimed season six “Battle of the Bastards” episode. He received a second ASC nomination for his work on Netflix’s Queen Elizabeth II drama The Crown, and a second Emmy nomination for BBC miniseries Sherlock. His latest work includes HBO’s Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon.

Hospital politics are always messy. Even when no corporate overlord is trying to steer the institution in a direction that might not be best for patients, board members often clash with healthcare providers.
Chicago Med Season 8 Episode 19 is the latest medical drama to explore what happens when a non-doctor with their own agenda gains a controlling interest in the hospital (both The Good Doctor and New Amsterdam offered similar stories in 2022).
Jack seemed all right as a hospital owner -- until he wasn't. But his latest victory was utterly predictable.
With all the noise Sharon, George, and Will kept making about how Vernon would swing the vote their way, how could he not betray them at the last second?
Will went to a ton of trouble to ensure Vernon could vote while Jack tried his hardest to interfere -- only for Vernon to gain a new perspective after his surgery.

“Ted Lasso” standout Juno Temple seems to be trading soccer stars for comic-book antiheroes, as the actor is in negotiations for a lead role in Sony and Marvel’s “Venom 3.”
The new movie stars Tom Hardy as the titular lethal protector Venom (and its human host Eddie Brock), one of Sony’s slate of Marvel characters, and will be directed by Kelly Marcel in her feature debut. Character details for Temple are being kept under wraps.
While Temple is perhaps best known for her Emmy and SAG Award-nominated performance as Keely Jones on the hit Apple TV+ series “Ted Lasso” — which may or may not be ending soon — the actor has delivered memorable work in “Atonement,” “Killer Joe,” “Vinyl,” “The Offer” and “Dirty John.” She’s next set to star in FX’s “Fargo,” leading the Season 5 cast alongside Jon Hamm and Jennifer Jason Leigh. Jack Dayton never struck me as a petty Sob, but it appears he is.
After Sharon refused to let his camera crew invade a patient's privacy on Chicago Med Season 8 Episode 17, Dayton barred the doctors from using Or 2.0 on subsidized patients.
I'm not sure how legal it is to do that, but it certainly is obnoxious.
Dayton's love of technology and the hospital's mandates have often been at odds, but not to this degree. Dayton appeared to genuinely care about patients despite his conflict of interest, but was that all an act?
And what does he mean by paying customers? Few people can pay out of pocket for procedures, and hospitals usually won't schedule them until they get pre-authorization. If Dayton plans only to offer 2.0 services to his rich friends who can afford to pay out of pocket, that will blow up badly in his face.
