Originally a stage actor, born in Kingston, Ontario. Trained at Theatre Five in Kingston starting at the age of 10 and worked with both Theatre Five (Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?, 1982) and Queen's University (Antigone, 1983). Attended Trinity College School, class of 1991 (Juror Five in Twelve Angry Men (1988), Dr Finache in A Flea in her Ear (1989), and Grandma in The American Dream (1990); for the latter, winner of the Best Actor prize for the annual drama festival). Recipient of the 1970 Trophy for Outstanding Contribution to the Arts (1991), and the Butterfield Trophy and Prize for Outstanding Contribution to Dramatics (1991). Attended the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, majoring in Theatre Arts. Starred in the Theatre Sewanee production of Whose Life is it Anyway? playing Ken Harrison (1992). Also featured in productions of Scapino! (1991, Singing Waiter) and Talk Radio (1993, Kent). Worked with Theatre Five in Kingston and for independent productions throughout the 1990s. Performed in the English-language, North American premiere of Paolo Puppa's Words in the Dark (1997, Parole al Buio) as The Actor; reprising this role in Toronto, 1999, for the most recent stage performance given. In the early 2000s, taught creative writing and English literature, as well as completing a degree in Cultural Studies at Trent University (2005). Moved to the UK in 2008. AP on The Misandrists (2017) by Bruce La Bruce is his first film credit.
