Robert Downey Jr.’s The Sympathizer co-star would love to join the MCU, and he has quite some picks for the roles he could play. Fred Nguyen Khan, who plays Bon in the HBO series, would have opted to play Shang Chi or Iron Fist, if these roles weren’t already taken. However, with his martial arts background, Khan would love to play the villain in the sequel to Simu Liu’s Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
Robert Downey Jr.’s The Sympathizer co-star reveals his MCU aspirations
Khan’s latest series, The Sympathizer, is receiving largely positive comments. Besides acting in the series, Robert Downey Jr. also served as its executive producer alongside his wife Susan Downey. The miniseries based on the Pulitzer-winning novel is also Downey Jr.’s first project since his Oscar win.

Invincible Season 2 Episode 8 referred to one of the earliest jokes in the series, one concerning a certain archeologist with a beetle tattoo, who gets buried in the sand because Mark summons a sandstorm by flying too low.
This occurred way back in Episode 4 of Season 1. Episode 8 of Season 2 had Chloe Bennet (Quake from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D) play a companion to the daughter of this archeologist. Bennet’s character was called Riley, while the archeologist’s daughter, voiced by Ella Purnell (of Arcane fame), was called Jane.

Riley, Jane, Jane’s father, and Ka-Hor (the mummy that they resurrect ) are not a part of Invincible comics. These characters are original entries into the show and seem to be of no consequence as of now.

It is indisputable that the Netflix series Iron Fist, starring Finn Jones on Netflix, struggled to garner favorable reviews. Scott Buck’s series has a 20% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. However, with a 71% favorability rating, it somehow garnered slightly higher respect from the review aggregator’s audience.
Its cancellation in 2018 was a further letdown. Since then, fans of the character have expressed a keen interest in seeing Jones reprise his role as Danny Rand, aka Iron Fist, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Despite years after the show and its lackluster reception, there is a growing call for Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige to give Jones “another chance” to play the iconic martial arts hero on the big screen.

We haven’t seen the full Avengers team in action since ‘Endgame.’ Since then, most members are either gone, doing their own thing, or still recovering from the heavy hits they took in the last few phases of the MCU.
There are two new Avengers movies in the works: ‘Avengers 5,’ also known as ‘Kang Dynasty,’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars,’ which fans hope will draw from the comics. People are speculating a lot about who will be in the new Avengers, especially with the bunch of new superheroes introduced in the last phase and more expected in upcoming projects. There’s also a ‘Young Avengers’ movie in development, showing the next generation of heroes getting ready to take over from the older ones.
During a recent Discord Q&a, Alex Perez from Cosmic Circus, a reliable insider known for providing truthful information, shared details about what we can anticipate from the upcoming Avengers team.

Marvel Studios and Disney have several projects in development and production, despite recent statements indicating they will reduce the scale and output of their movies and shows due to mixed results in recent years. However, fans are eagerly anticipating certain projects, including the sequel to ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.’
Development on the sequel to ‘Shang-Chi’ began in December 2021, with director and writer Cretton and star Liu expected to return. Liu expressed interest in exploring his character’s journey with the Ten Rings and his role in the MCU. However, by July 2023, Liu was unsure about the sequel’s production timeline, mentioning it was planned for release after ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty,’ which had been postponed to 2026 and renamed. He anticipated more details would emerge soon.
We recently reported that filming for ‘Shang-Chi 2’ is set to start in 2025, and it’s anticipated that more details about the movie’s plot will emerge.

Actor Charlie Cox is popularly known for portraying Matt Murdock a.k.a., Daredevil in the series Daredevil for Netflix. Inspired by 1970s movies, the series was intended to be darker than other Marvel projects, intentionally avoiding any MCU crossovers. It was the first Marvel Netflix series and was followed by Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, which eventually led to the mini-series The Defenders.
Upon its release, the series received positive comments from the critics as well as the audience, with Charlie Cox’s character becoming one of the fan favorite MCU characters. In 2022, after Disney regained the license for the Marvel series, Daredevil Netflix was canceled to make way for a Disney+ show. Cox will reprise his role for Daredevil: Born Again scheduled for a 2025 release, but recent reports suggest that he could appear in Spider-Man 4 in a significant role.

Composer turned director Michael Giacchino is said to be in line to helm an MCU take on one of Marvel Comics’ supernatural teams, Midnight Sons.
Here’s one fresh from the rumour mill: reports are suggesting that Marvel Studios is putting a new team-up project together featuring some of its supernatural characters, based on the Midnight Sons series of comic books.
According to the report, Midnight Sons is ‘a team of supernatural superheroes that includes Blade, Morbius and at least two versions of Ghost Rider. Other members have included Moon Knight, Doctor Strange, Man-Thing, Wolverine, Iron Fist, Wong and many more.’
Lots of those characters currently exist in some sort of MCU continuity, so the top brass at Marvel would have no problem putting together a roster. Blade, Wong, Doctor Strange and Moon Knight seem like the safest picks given that they have have appeared in the MCU proper. Given...

A couple months ago, we heard a rumor that a team of supernatural characters known as the Midnight Sons might be coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe… and now Oscar Isaac has let it be known that if a Midnight Sons project were to happen, he wants his MCU character Moon Knight to be part of it!
As I’ve said before, one of my favorite comic book story arcs is the “Rise of the Midnight Sons”, where Doctor Strange oversaw the formation of a team of supernatural heroes – Ghost Rider, Johnny Blaze, Morbius, the Nightstalkers, and Darkhold characters Vicki Montesi, Louise Hastings, and Sam Buchanan – who were brought together to battle Lilith, the Mother of All Demons, and her evil offspring, the Lilin. This post contains spoilers for Echo.
Not so long ago, a bright and insightful writer at the venerable pop culture site Den of Geek noted that the Kingpin of Crime Wilson Fisk could fill a gaping hole in the MCU. At the end of the fifth and final episode of Echo, that prediction looks even more sound.
Echo builds to a strange climax, in which Maya Lopez aka Echo gains indistinct superpowers and spreads them to her sister and grandmother to help them fight off Fisk and his men. But instead of punching Fisk into submission or shooting him in the face again, as she did at the end of Hawkeye, Maya performs something of a mind-meld on her adopted uncle.
The move forces him to relive his memories as a boy, listening to his father beat his mother. As Vincent D’Onofrio takes his giant baby approach to playing Fisk to its furthest extreme,...

The heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have visited some fantastic planets. The deadly and mystical Vormir, the rat-tag assemblage on Nowhere, and Ego the Living Planet have all offered exciting new storytelling possibilities. But none capture the imagination like Aladana, visited by Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris), and Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani) in The Marvels. After Carol dons a striking headpiece and warns her compatriots about the planet’s oddness, a representative arrives to greet the heroes… in song.
What follows is a brief musical number, borrowing equally from Bollywood blockbusters and technicolor musicals of a bygone age. Director Nia DaCosta floats her camera around and above the dancers, taking in the luscious colors popping against the bleached white backgrounds. At the climax of the scene, Carol’s costume transforms into an elegant dress befitting a Disney princess,...

If you’ve been keeping up with Marvel, you know they always have something big up their sleeve. This December, they’re gearing up to blow our minds once more with the release of ‘Timeless’ #1. It’s not just any release – it marks the third year of the special year-ending one-shot that sets up what’s next in the Marvel Universe.
Imagine a bleak future where only one superhero remains. That’s right, just one. His name? Power Man. But don’t let the lone figure fool you. This isn’t a world empty of threats. Far from it. An ancient evil has risen, and he goes by the name Immortal Moon Knight. Made from a cocktail of StarkTech, the Eternal Machine, and the God of the Moon, he’s a force to be reckoned with.

As the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to expand, stranger and stranger characters from the bottomless depths of the Marvel Comics universe are going to begin appearing. At its inception in 2008, the MCU still took place in a world that struck at least a passing resemblance to our own. Sometime in 2016, however, when Scott Derrickson's "Doctor Strange" announced that magic is real, the MCU effectively left much of its connection to the real world behind. By 2022, so many extraordinary super-beings and omnipotent space deities have been introduced that nothing seems impossible anymore.
Michael Giacchino's new TV special "Werewolf by Night," now available on Disney+, takes a swing that, in earlier years, might have been considered bold for the MCU. As it so happens, monsters are real in the Marvel universe, and they have secret societies and superhero teams of their own. This post contains spoilers for episode 3 of "She-Hulk: Attorney at law."
"She-Hulk: Attorney At Law" isn't a show that lacks in self-awareness, that's for sure. After the premiere episode charted Jennifer Walters' (Tatiana Maslany) origin story alongside a healthy dose of Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner/Hulk, the second episode (re)introduced Tim Roth's Emil Blonsky/Abomination, a holdover from 2008's "The Incredible Hulk" who many fans wouldn't have expected to see again before his appearance in "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings." Now, today's episode gifted us with yet another cameo by Wong (Benedict Wong), the Sorcerer Supreme who has now made a habit of popping up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe when you'd least expect him to. All this was wryly acknowledged early in the third episode, with She-Hulk once again breaking the fourth wall to remind viewers of exactly whose show this is.

One of the big new Marvel shows announced for Disney+ is Echo, starring Alaqua Cox. The character will be introduced in Hawkeye later this month and now is the perfect time for her to shine. In the comics, Echo was never truly a top-tier hero. Echo has mostly been portrayed as a supporting character, but she is remembered for her role in an era that goes well with MCU Phase 4. More specifically, she represents the rebirth of the Avengers.
Maya Lopez was introduced in Daredevil #9 in 1999. The storyline was written by David Mack and drawn by Joe Quesada. Through no fault of its own, the story was doomed to be overwhelmed by its placement in the Daredevil series, as it followed Kevin Smith’s high-profile take on the character and came just before Brian Michael Bendis’ lengthy and defining run.

This week I will be taking an in depth look at some key issues from the ‘Bronze Age.’ I will be going indepth for all the ;Comics Ages’ in the future. I am starting with the Bronze because it is the era I am most familiar with as a reader and a collector. Also it is the era that is both dominating adaptations for the silver screen and inspiring this generation of comic creators. My original plan was use the Zap-Kapow (the official price guide of eBuying Comics) and talk about the 10 most highly valued issues of the Bronze Age. Five from Marvel and five from DC. But every comics website on the planet in their time has done a variation on this. So I decided to drop down some levels, still picking out key issues. But key issues that aren’t going to break the bank because of Hollywood interference…...

Paramount is expanding its “Transformers” business.
Marco Ramirez (showrunner for Netflix’s Marvel series “The Defenders”) has signed to write a script for a new, standalone “Transformers” movie based on the Hasbro toy brand, with “Charm City Kings” director Angel Manuel Soto attached to direct.
The project is still in its earliest stages, with Ramirez taking a fresh approach that will not connect to the “Transformers” movies directed by Michael Bay or the “Bumblebee” spin-off directed by Travis Knight. That series remains alive and well, however, with Steven Caple Jr. (“Creed II”) directing a movie set in the “Transformers” Bay-verse that is scheduled for June 2022.
Like practically every other studio in the streaming era, Paramount is clearly invested in growing its “Transformers” franchise to feed the relentless demand for marquee content. A “Constantine” series is in early development at HBO Max, Variety has learned from sources.
The search is currently on for an actor to lead the series in the role of John Constantine, with Guy Bolton attached to write. According to sources, the show would tie in to the “Justice League Dark” series that is currently at the works at the streamer with J.J. Abrams executive producing via Bad Robot.

The search is currently on for an actor to lead the series in the role of John Constantine, with Guy Bolton attached to write. According to sources, the show would tie in to the “Justice League Dark” series that is currently at the works at the streamer with J.J. Abrams executive producing via Bad Robot.

It’s the championship bout that we’ve all been waiting for…and apparently it’s happened before.
No, we’re not talking about 1962’s Toho classic King Kong vs. Godzilla, which brought the big ape from Skull Island and the nuclear-powered dinosaur from the Sea of Japan into conflict for the first time onscreen. But as we find out in the first trailer for Godzilla vs. Kong — the fourth entry in the modern-day series of films known as the “Monsterverse” — these two gigantic icons of monster mythology have possibly met before…in the distant past.
“The myths are real,” says Rebecca Hall, one of the stars of the new movie. “There was a war, and they’re the last ones standing.”
Maybe not the last ones, but surely the most powerful ones. When we last saw Godzilla in 2019’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters, he had defeated the three-headed...

With “WandaVision” airing on Disney+ tomorrow, it’s a week full of Kevin Feige interviews and Marvel news, and this week the MCU studio chief has teased the return of Netlflix characters and actors again. Early this week when asked about the potential return of some of the Netflix characters and potentially the same actors who played them—Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Iron Fist (Finn Jones), and The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) Feige teased, “well, you never know.” And today, the Marvel Studios Chief was more forceful in his hints.

Casting news for Spider-Man 3 has been surreal and chaotic—in the best possible way. Now, in the aftermath of reports that villains from previous franchise iterations like Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock and Jamie Foxx’s Electro will return (in a manner not yet known), a strong rumor is now pointing to the addition of a displaced Marvel hero, Charlie Cox’s Daredevil; a move that, if true, would mark the first big screen acknowledgement of Marvel’s nixed Netflix television corner.
The ever-growing rumor implies that Cox’s Matt Murdock, a.k.a. Daredevil, will go from small-screen cancelation by Netflix to big-screen splendor alongside star Tom Holland as part of the ever-growing Spider-Man 3 cast. The rumor’s renewed momentum noticeably occurs shortly after Netflix’s licensed exclusive rights to Daredevil expired this past November, rendering it open season for Marvel regarding its signature blind lawyer vigilante.

Just because Marvel Studios have the rights to a popular character, it doesn’t mean that they’re obligated to give them a movie. Kevin Feige and his team have been in charge of Ghost Rider since 2013, but there’s been no real attempt at bringing the Spirit of Vengeance back to the big screen, and talk has only intensified over the last few months because Keanu Reeves has frequently found himself linked to the title role.
Meanwhile, Marvel first reacquired the rights to Blade back in 2012, but it wasn’t until Mahershala Ali was announced to be playing the Daywalker seven years later that we even found out they had any interest in rebooting the character as part of their cinematic universe. Ironically, the shortest turnaround time came with the Netflix shows, as Daredevil hit the small screen just three years after the Man Without Fear slipped out of Fox’s grasp,...

In her new film “On the Rocks” — premiering at the New York Film Festival on its way to AppleTV+ in October — writer-director Sofia Coppola may well have crafted the quintessential Bill Murray role. But this is a father-daughter story, and the daughter is no less important; it helps, obviously, that both Coppola and co-lead Rashida Jones know a thing or two about larger-than-life dads, but it also matters that Jones is enough of a skilled actor and comic that she more than holds her own opposite the equally larger-than-life Murray.
Murray’s Felix is an old-school charmer, a deadpan wit, and a bon vivant, but he’s also an adoring father and grandfather, and he’s capable of accessing and acknowledging regret and loss. It would be a banquet for any actor, but the character has been so crafted for this particular performer that one suspects we will think of...

The first full trailer for Marvel’s WandaVision dropped during the 2020 Emmys, and with it came a Ton of new information about the show. But there’s one quick little nod to comics history that might herald a shift in how the Scarlet Witch and Vision are portrayed in the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe.
For a brief moment, Vision joined his wife the Scarlet Witch in wearing a comics-accurate costume. That’s right: he’s rocking the big yellow cape, the drab green body, and the diamond. Even if it’s only for a second, and clearly during trick or treating, it’s still there, a massive divergence from the McU standard that he’s been in since Avengers: Age of Ultron.
See for yourself…
That design is straight out of Vision’s first appearance in 1968’s Avengers #57. Vision’s costume design was very of the time: the Giant collar...

With the upcoming lineup of Disney Plus shows in various stages of development and new additions to the big screen like The Eternals, Shang-Chi, Blade, Deadpool, the Fantastic Four and the X-Men all arriving over the next few years, the scope and scale of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is set to expand dramatically throughout Phases Four, Five and Six.
There’s going to be a lot of new faces signing up to the most lucrative franchise in history, all the way from headlining superheroes right down to the minor supporting characters that jump between the various film and TV projects to tie it all together. The Defenders may have come home earlier than anticipated. As per the streaming giant’s original agreement with Marvel, the studio would only gain the freedom to work with the stars of the Netflix side of the McU two years after their cancellation. However, McU Cosmic’s Jeremy Conrad recently revealed that he’s heard Marvel already has clearance to use Daredevil again. And now, we can add some further good news to that.
According to sources close to Wgtc – the same ones who told us about Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk being in the works, Taskmaster being Black Widow‘s main villain and the Guardians having a cameo in Thor: Love and Thunder – the studio has got the rights back to all of the Defenders characters now, not just the Man Without Fear. After Disney’s takeover of Fox and subsequent acquisition of some very high-profile characters including the X-Men, Deadpool and the Fantastic Four, it was only a matter of time before Marvel’s slate of Netflix shows came to an end. Even though they previously existed in the same universe as the movies, which has now been wiped from official canon, with the McU gathering as many heroes as possible under one roof it was inevitable that the members of the Defenders would be relaunched under Kevin Feige’s watch.
We’ve been hearing rumors for a while now about how Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and the Punisher could make their return to the McU, and although nothing’s been confirmed just yet, the smart money would be on at least a couple of the actors that played the title characters on Netflix reprising their roles, given how...

As the first to debut, as well as the only one to get three full seasons alongside Jessica Jones, Daredevil was always viewed as the flagship series of Netflix’s collaboration with Marvel Television. The show also received some of the strongest reviews from critics, particularly when it came to the signature fight sequences, and the loss of Matt Murdock seemed to hit fans harder than the rest of his Defenders cohorts when it was announced that all of the streaming service’s Marvel slate was axed.
Due to the timing, which not-too-coincidentally happened alongside Disney’s takeover of Fox, the smart money was on the entire Netflix lineup being canceled so that Marvel Studios could reboot Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and the Punisher into the McU. While Kevin Feige was initially planning on casting fresh faces, speculation over the last few months has hinted that Charlie Cox,...

Marvel TV is winding down. Two months after the division was moved under Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios, the TV-arm of Marvel is ending all of its development plans.
Marvel TV will complete all of its projects that are currently in development, which include the final season of ABC’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” that will air next summer, but will not continue beyond that. Those also include the four animated series that are currently in development at Hulu, as well as the live-action “Helstrom.”
The integration of Marvel TV under Marvel Studios will include layoffs as a result, both in the immediate future and long term, once development on all current Marvel TV shows is completed. The move effectively shutters the division as it will be absorbed by Marvel Studios — though the Marvel TV name may still continue.

We’ve got bad news for you, Luke Cage fans. It’s looking like Mike Colter has played the Hero of Harlem for the final time.
Ever since Netflix cancelled all their Marvel TV series starting from about a year ago, the future of the Defenders in the McU has been sketchy. Nevertheless, there’s been a lot of talk of Charlie Cox still returning as Daredevil for further projects under Marvel Studios once they get the rights back in a year or two. Unfortunately, though, the same cannot be said for Colter.

It was a big bummer when we learned that Netflix had canceled all of the Marvel shows such as Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and The Punisher. Well, according to a recent report, two of the more popular characters might end up living on in the McU.
According to McU Cosmic, “someone very important” at Marvel Studios was a huge fan of Daredevil and Jessica Jones, “so at the very least it sounds like the characters will live on in the McU.”
The report goes on to say that these will not be a revival of the Netflix shows, instead “those characters might (once the moratorium is up and Marvel can use them again) appear in future McU movies or series. That’s without rebooting them, which means it’s possible that Charlie Cox and Krysten Ritter could continue in the roles.”

That’s right! Gil Kane’s 1968 creation will be returning to the world of comics with new adventures starting in December through Paper Movies. His Name Is … Savage! for those who are unfamiliar is a short lived noir comic with a story you could picture the likes of James Bond having to endure. After Gil Kane had passed in 2000, few people thought they’d ever see more of this rather obscure creation from the man that brought us characters like Hal Jordan and Iron Fist.
Writing this reboot of His Name Is … Savage! is veteran comics writer Steven Grant whose known for his work on comics like Punisher and The Avengers. Illustrating this return is up and coming artist Jesus Antonio Hernandez Portaveritas with colorists Falk Haensel and Raul Manriquez. The new logo and lettering was done by multi-Ringo Award nominated letterer Taylor Esposito who also contributed to ComicMIx’s Mine!

David Fincher is rounding out the cast for his upcoming Netflix feature, Mank, about the tumultuous development of Orson Welles’ classics Citizen Kane.
Joining previously announced Oscar winner Gary Oldman is Amanda Seyfried, Lily Collins, Tuppence Middleton, Arliss Howard (The Time Traveler’s Wife), Charles Dance (Game Of Thrones), Ferdinand Kingsley (Dracula Untold), Jamie McShane (Gone Girl), Joseph Cross (Milk), Sam Troughton (Chernobyl), Toby Leonard Moore (Billions), Tom Burke (The Souvenir) and Tom Pelphrey (Iron Fist).
The project is a longtime-in-the-making for the two-time Oscar-nominated director, who will shoot the film in black and white with production starting next month. Based on a screenplay by the Gone Girl filmmaker’s late father, Howard “Jack” Fincher, Mank follows famed Hollywood screenwriter Herman J. It’s been almost a year now since the Daredevil Netflix show was officially canceled, which has proven to be more than enough time for most fans to accept that the decision to axe Matt Murdock’s TV series isn’t going to be reversed anytime soon. But while the social media backlash to last November’s news isn’t as intense as it once was, the #SaveDaredevil movement continues to let their outrage be heard, and has even found a surprising new supporter in one Tom Hiddleston.
The Loki actor recently starred opposite Daredevil actor Charlie Cox in a Broadway adaptation of Harold Pinter’s Betrayal. Perhaps their collaboration has made Hiddleston more sympathetic to the cause, because in a new video shared by the official #SaveDaredevil Twitter account, the star of the upcoming Loki show can be seen turning to the camera to utter the simple slogan, “Save Daredevil.

The Punisher‘s cancellation was understandably met with a considerable amount of backlash, but it wasn’t like we didn’t see it coming, with star Jon Bernthal even saying he was “at peace” with the possibility of it happening after season 2 premiered. Not to mention that after Iron Fist, Luke Cage and Daredevil all got the ax by Netflix, Frank Castle’s chances of survival were slim to none.
Still, given how popular the show and Bernthal’s take on the antihero is, fans have long asked themselves if there’s a chance we may see the Punisher again one day down the road. From what we understand, it’ll be at least a few years before any of the Defenders can show up in any non-Netflix production, but that doesn’t mean they can’t ever appear again in a future Marvel movie or TV show.

The inter-company rivalry between Marvel Studios and Marvel Television continues to fascinate me. Now, with news circulating that Marvel Television won’t be proceeding with their Gabriel Luna-starring Ghost Rider show, insiders are chalking it up to yet another casualty of behind-the-scenes drama between the two Marvel limbs. Theoretically, the two companies should work in harmony, with the idea being that Marvel Studios focuses on big screen McU adventures, while Television spearheads McU TV like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the now-cancelled Netflix shows.
What eventually transpired though were series about Marvel superheroes that were nominally set in the same universe as the movies, and which occasionally made a vague reference to the Battle of New York, but were for the most part entirely separate. Fans of Alpha Flight have been pretty hard done by in recent years. Although the John Byrne written and drawn first 28 issues remain fan favourites to this day later efforts have seen somewhat diminishing returns, with the occasional bright spot. Alpha Flight characters and history became a mess, so convoluted every new attempt required rebooting and retconning, creating more mess. I think the final nail in the coffin for ‘Canada’s super team’ was when they became nothing more than second banana space warriors backing up Captain Marvel. So, what’s a publisher to do? How about give us some stories from the classic era, with all the creators being Canadian themselves. Yep, that works.
So, we get three stories from the classic era and featuring the characters we loved then and now.

Loeb sat down with Deadline last month at San Diego Comic-Con and compared Marvel TV to a phoenix rising from what some were assuming to be ashes after the mass exodus of the series listed above. What we know so far is that we’ve got a live-action Ghost Rider in the works, an animated Howard the Duck, the Marvel series coming to the Disney+ streaming service that launches this November with the newly partnered Hulu, and whispers of a brand new...

While most people know Marvel for the films they’ve put out recently, they also have a whole smattering of offerings on the smaller screen. Netflix had five big guns in the forms of Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Daredevil, The Punisher and Luke Cage. All save for ol’ Fistboy were received fairly well and we even got to see most of them team up in The Defenders, which I hear was…okay? In any case, many fans were shocked when the shows were cancelled in a relatively short timespan.
It wasn’t only us viewers who were taken by surprise though, as the studio was also caught off-guard. Marvel Television chief Jeph Loeb sat down with Deadline the other day to talk about the current state of Marvel TV, and the subject quickly moved towards the subject of the sudden ending of the fan favorite Netflix shows.

Last year saw Netflix unexpectedly swing the axe of cancellation on their small corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Each of the shows were issued pink slips shortly after airing what would wind up being their final seasons. While many saw this coming, as ratings were supposedly down, critical reception for all the series was up. In fact, Daredevil produced a final set of episodes widely lauded as its best to date, while Luke Cage and Iron Fist provided marked improvements on their previous runs.
However, the impending launch of Disney’s own streaming service, and the wild success of Netflix’s new superhero series, The Umbrella Academy, which proved that Marvel was not a necessity for the streamer, sealed the fate of these shows.
Even though it was clear that the Heroes of Hell’s Kitchen weren’t long for this world, fans were still caught off guard. In fact,...

It’s been a bittersweet year for diehard Marvel Studios fans. Within the past seven months, the House of Ideas gave the world Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home, each a billion-dollar grossing movie that served to expand the corners of the McU. However, fans of the more street-level heroes took a hit when the studio pulled the plug on their final Netflix series Jessica Jones and The Punisher, bringing what remained of The Defenders to an early end.
We heard earlier this week though that the McU wasn’t yet finished with the team, with a Daredevil reboot allegedly already in the works. Now, it sounds like revamped versions of Luke Cage and Iron Fist are on the way, too.
Cosmic Book News has heard from their source that the studio plans to reboot both characters in a Heroes For Hire project. While it’s currently...
