Trent Fasnacht
Trent was born and raised in Darke County, Ohio; home of the world famous Maid-Rites and Great Darke County Fair. He earned degrees in International Affairs and Construction Engineering from the University of Cincinnati and was captain of the Bearcat Rugby Team.
After a decade in commercial construction, Trent renovated his first condemned house in 2000, thus beginning his career saving homes others didn't want. In 2011, in search of another unwanted house or a prospective rehab client, Trent started a renovation blog: Blood, Sweat, and Pig's Ears; a titled derived from Trent's affectionate reference to his unwanted homes (pig's ears) before he transforms them into "silk purses."
In 2013, a Scripps Network producer discovered Trent's blog and sent a small crew to film him in action on his Country Victorian in Summerville, South Carolina. This lead to the series American Rehab Charleston and subsequent show Restoring Charleston in 2016. Since filming both shows, Trent has continued to work on the American Rehab House as well as other projects and has been honored to be part of some Lowcountry TV commercials. Trent and his family live in the Lowcountry.
