Anne Hathaway Defended Mocking Katie Holmes After SNL Skit Uproar ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Anne Hathaway once defended mocking Katie Holmes. After she impersonated the Dawson Creek actress on Saturday Night Live, the incident created a media frenzy. At the time, multiple reports allege that Tom Cruise’s ex-wife was displeased with the Princess Diaries actress’ performance.
In 2010, during her second go-round hosting SNL, Anne Hathaway performed a spacey impersonation of Katie Holmes from the show Dawson’s Creek that seemingly suggested Holes’ character Joey Potter was not too bright.
Shortly after, reports emerged that Holmes was not pleased with Anne Hathway’s seemingly deriding impression of the actress. In response, Hathway defended mocking Katie Holmes, saying, “It wasn’t really Katie Holmes; it was more [her Creek character] Joey Potter.”

Television shows seem well-organized and choreographed. Yet, not everything about them always goes according to plan.
For example, an incidental character sometimes steals a scene and creates memorable television history.
Then, there are the characters who take things a step further by stealing scenes repeatedly until they become the stars themselves.
Particular characters, such as Dr. Gregory House on House, are often created to be standouts. Yet, occasionally, those main protagonists are entirely overshadowed.
In rare instances, characters who were supposed to be incidental became regulars and took over entire shows.
The Fonz on Happy Days (1974-1984)
Happy Days underwent several changes, including the recasting and eventual disappearance of Chuck Cunningham's character, but Arthur (The Fonz) Fonzarelli's addition most dramatically altered the show's trajectory.
Initially, Happy Days focused on the Cunningham family, especially teenager Richie (Ron Howard). The Fonz (Henry Winkler) was a side character. However, the motorcycle-riding, leather jacket-wearing greaser soon took over.

When she’s not earning laughs as the flighty but metamorphosing Summer Dutkowsky, the self-proclaimed “hot one” of Girls5eva, the real Busy Philipps — beloved actor, internet personality, and podcaster — has spent the past seven years building a reputation as the brutally honest one.
Around 2017, Philipps started chronicling her daily life on the then-nascent Instagram Stories, speaking directly into the camera with a confessional “Ok … You guys …,” followed by whatever might pop into her brain at any given moment. One story, for example, is an admission of keeping running shoes...

That collective sigh of relief you heard last summer? It was the internet learning that Never Have I Ever’s Paxton Hall-Yoshida – the dreamy high school senior with high-set dimples and a jawline that could cut diamonds – is actually played by 31-year-old actor Darren Barnet. Yes, we may have fallen for the brooding jock with unprobed depths as he roamed the halls of Sherman Oaks High on the Netflix hit, but his real-life age gave our crushes a plausible veneer of respectability. We must have sensed this man’s much older soul. If anything, we were responding to his Duchenne smile, and what child star could achieve such crinkly eyed warmth?
In truth, it was still kind of creepy. He was playing a teenage heartthrob after all. But in the season three finale to Mindy Kaling’s sensationally funny coming-of-age sitcom, Paxton finally crossed TV’s undeniable threshold into adulthood: he graduated from high school.

We may never know the full truth behind Delia Owens’ checkered past as a conservationist — which almost certainly seem to include a militant, white savior-minded approach to policing Zambian wildlife preserves, and may also extend to being a “co-conspirator and accessory” to murder — but the secret to the “Where the Crawdads Sing” author’s success is now as obvious as her plotting, even to those of us who had never heard of the runaway bestseller until Taylor Swift invented it a few short weeks ago. Olivia Newman’s (“First Match”) slick and glossy beach read of a movie adaptation brings it all right to the surface. Which is just as well, because .
Yes, this is an expertly contrived melodrama about defiance in the face of abandonment, and sure, it’s also a faintly self-exonerating caricature of a natural woman unspoiled by Western society. But underneath the story’s humid romance with Carolina marshland,...

Dawson's Creek premiered back in 1998, over twenty years ago now. It recently hit Netflix, allowing today's audiences to view it with a fresh eye.
The show was quite ground-breaking for its day. It created the teen drama genre, a show about high school kids, played by adults, dealing with adult problems.
Many shows have done this format since, but Dawson's Creek was the first. It lasted six seasons, ending with a two-hour finale involving a time-jump.
This finale, in my humble opinion, blew. It was full of problems, from storylines to endgames. Yes, endgames, because no, I am not okay with who everybody ended up with.
Before you accuse me of being team Dawson, let me assure you, I am not. However, that doesn't mean Joey should have ended up with Pacey.
I'm still not happy with how Joey's story ended -- or Pacey's, Jen's, or Jack's. Dawson's ending was relatively acceptable.

And you thought Joey Potter's love life was complicated. Despite being notoriously private and tight-lipped when it comes to her personal life, Katie Holmes is once again back in the news, thanks to her latest romance. The 41-year-old star has often been photographed getting cozy with New York City restaurateur Emilio Vitolo Jr., who called her his baby in a since-deleted Instagram. And while Katie herself has yet comment on the new man in her life, that hasn't stopped people from continuing to be curious about her love life. That, of course, could be because she once dated one of her Dawson's Creek costars, giving fans the rare satisfaction of their favorite on-screen pair being...

In early 2005, Katie Holmes' life was going in a certain direction. She was playing the love of Bruce Wayne's life in Batman Begins, the first film in Christopher Nolan's hotly anticipated trilogy about the Caped Crusader, due out that June. And Thank You for Smoking, in which she played a manipulative reporter who has an affair with a tobacco lobbyist, would have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival that September. So Holmes' year definitely began with certain hopes, dreams and expectations. Just two years removed from ending up with Pacey on Dawson's Creek, the 26-year-old actress had already put her Joey Potter days firmly behind...
