- John Turner is an Oscar and Emmy-nominated Executive Producer and Development Executive of non-fiction series and feature documentaries.
John recently became the Head of Documentary at IMAX. He previously served as a Development Consultant for Netflix Documentary Originals and is the creator of Dirty Money, the 6-part financial crime investigative series executive produced by Alex Gibney. Why Did You Kill Me?, a true crime feature documentary Executive Produced, by John, premiered on Netflix in 2021. From Here to Home, an anthology short series John developed and executive produced for Davis Guggenheim's Concordia Studio and New York Times' OpDocs, premiered at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival. One of those films--"Walk Run Cha-Cha"--was nominated for a 2020 Academy Award and a News & Documentary Emmy.
An in-demand producer, writer and development consultant with multi-platform media and storytelling experience, John has also served as a Director of Development for the launch of VICE's cable channel, Viceland, and developed series and documentaries for Jigsaw Productions in New York.
